We went on Dec. 26th. Melody greeted us. She was hostess & server. She was all over the place. The dining room was filled with VERY noisy patrons. She kept forgetting almost everything we asked for such as beer menu, napkins & silverware. The pretzel & French fries appetizer were huge & delicious. We all had different dishes. The spatzle... We come to Tahoe a few times a year and this is a "must eat" every time we're here. Having been to Germany and eaten plenty of authentic German food, I can tell you this is the closest thing to the real deal I've found stateside. Excellent beer choices, great food and the relaxed atmosphere helps make our Tahoe trip.... More

This place has the perfect amount of service, delicious food, good prices, and a large selection of beer. It's nothing fancy so don't expect a 5 star restaurant. I like that they have board and card games to play, a fuse-ball table, a fire to sit by, and a nice stage for bands. I recommend trying the spaetzle and pretzel.... More

I was in the area for my birthday, and wanted German food. Called and they said they were going to close the kitchen soon, but said they would hold it open until we got there! They were true to their word! The place is awesome! Needs an outdoor deck/seating area/smoking area, but otherwise absolutely awesome!

It was a quiet night, but can see how this place could get really loud. The beer selections were awesome and the food choices very German. I had pork schnitzel (you can also have chicken), nicely breaded and served enough lemon (usually I have to ask for more). Very traditional and good. My husband had the Hungarian Goulash with housemade... More

So glad we found this fun place just down the street from Tahoe Seasons where we were staying. Ben, the bar tender, server, greeter etc was fantastic & a lot of fun. We went for a late lunch & each had a sausage plate ( very reasonable) & he served us each 2 different kinds of meat so we shared... More

Great German food in a cozy chalet atmosphere, located across from the base facilities of Heavenly Valley Ca side. Great Weiner schnitzel that is super hearty. The Hungarian goulash was a big portion if you like beef stew meat, but next time I want to try another specialty. Ordered the pretzel appetizer and also recommend.

Great German beer, decent food, and a fun place to hang out. It's off the beaten path. Went there twice - first time when they were just opening for the day. The owners spent a lot of time answering questions and conversing with us. Loved it. The second time was back later the next day. The band was playing -... More

Anyplace that offers Schwein Hax (pork leg, generally roasted up to a golden, crispy deliciousness) is a place that is going to draw me in lickety-split. We read the reviews of Himmel Haus and it sounded like a fun atmosphere, with lots of raves about the pretzels and mixed reviews on the schwein hax. A few reviews had noted that... More

Great German food. Our friends had schnitzel and I had swein hauxe, a roasted joint bone. Everything was great including thie beer selection. I'm sure this place rocks during the ski season but they were very attentive and friendly.
