We stopped at Himmel Haus to find a Haven for a change of food. The waiters were nice, the food was delicious, but there was a big surprise at the end on our bill. Although the prices were appropriate for a speciality restaurant, we were very surprised to find the word gratuity on the receipt. They automatically charge you 15%... More

Brought our family here for dinner. Split 2 meals since I had read the portions were big. They were right! Brotchen with the onion and bacon side was delicious. The schnitzel was large and the beef golash was very tasty. Awesome service from Dustin. He explained the entire menu to include the different beers they had. Highly recommend. Great food... More

We stopped by after Germany had clobbered Brazil in the WC. The beer selection is terrific and you can get a variety of sizes on tap. We had the currywurst for dinner and it was good. If you have been to Berlin, you would know it should be a touch sweeter and more curry. Lots of food.

Himmel Haus is a fun place where people can sit around and enjoy good German food and beer. Some nights, they have special events and bands or DJs and the place gets jumping. The staff is helpful and the patrons are all fun loving people. One of the more lively spots in town.

Last weekend my husband and I had dinner at Himmel Haus, South Lake Tahoe. (Love the play on location - it is close to Heavenly Ski Resort and Himmel translates to heaven.) We liked the atmosphere - friendly gasthaus - and service was friendly. The beer was great, but the food was just O.K. It was plentiful, but somehow missed... More

Absolutely wonderful dining experience. We stopped by for some appetizers and beer and were treated to some amazing dishes. We ordered the Kase-spatzel, chicken schnitzel, and pretzel platter. Everything was delicious. The spatzel was unbelievable. It is made with Gouda Cheese and is topped with pretzel crumbs. Seriously, if you share this dish you will fight over the last bite.... More

The most overrated and underwhelming German food we've ever had. At any price, the schnitzel was the most bland, dry and overcooked I've ever had. At $21, it is now the most overpriced, bland, dry and overcooked schnitzel I have ever had. Can't say much more for the cheaper menu items. Wife ordered a brat that tasted more like a... More

I really want to love Himmel Haus especially with Swiss Chalet being closed for like, forever. However, while the beer, bar, and ages are great, the food is some of the blandest creations I've tasted. Himmel Haus needs a more classical approach to German food and maybe a bit of adventure!

Himmel Haus was an authentic place that we visited. It had the best german food I have ever tried, the waiters were very friendly. Also it was a great place for the kids! They had board games so they kept themselves busy. Our whole family loved it and next time we stay in Lake Tahoe this is our resturant! Ovaral... More
