Good sushi, fun atmosphere

The menu is quite creative - some interesting variations on favorite dishes. It is a bit pricy but then it's also a bit different - so worth the trip. It's a bit more 'posh' than Off the Hook (my local favorite) and well worth a visit.

The sushi we ordered were great which adds up really quick. We ordered 2 large saki's $8 each, one cold nice saki for $14. food total was $46 or so... but again the food was great, the chefs are laid back and fun to be around who make the rolls right there in front view. everything is made fresh and... If you are the kind of diner that cares only about food quality - and does not get annoyed or distracted by completely terrible service - then consider Sushi Samurai. Our server was doubling as a bartender though there seemed to be ample staff in the restaurant. She messed up our order, missing parts of it. Never brought my daughter's... More

Now, I did not expect to find a very good sushi place up here in Tahoe. What made this cute place a fun place is the fire pit that diners can huddle around and warm up while dining. The main man personally introduces the specials for that evening. The night we went, there about ten special items on the menu,... More

While the service was slow and the atmosphere certainly not cosy it really was excellent sushi. We tried a variety of different dishes and all were very fresh and tasty. Wine was however overpriced and we were given no choice.

We saved our anniversary night out until we went to Tahoe. We had been going here for years and the new owners do not disappoint. We were extremely happy the menu was a lot like it was in past years (20). We love the fact that they use real snow crab in all the dishes that called for crab. This... More

When you walk into a place and the staff know most the patrons you are in the right place. Particularly when on a busy roadway in a tourist area. The food is very fresh with with some standards as well as some designer rolls that were excellent. Well worth going to.

The restaurant is on Highway 50 which I was worried that it is just another tourist catch all, we wanted sushi however and decided to give it a chance. The thing we quickly noticed was the owner and the two sushi chefs knew a good number of people in the place. This was an indication to us that the local... More

This is another great place to dine if you love sushi! The food is super fresh, the wait was not long and well worth it! Made a second trip in one weekend. Thanks for a fantastic meal x2!
