We stayed at the Black Bear inn for a weekend. The place is located at a nice convenient location. The ski season not being so good this year it was deserted. The Inn keeper was mostly alone while we stayed and not very chatty. The inn itself is a little weird, it can be placed somewhere between modern and traditional.... More

good view of sunset at Lake Tahoe and the food was good, and the service was great even though we were outside

Food portions are good wish they would team with Inn by the Lake and offer discounts to people who are staying at the Inn at the Lake since is next door they are a little pricee for quality of food.

On our 8/15/12 visit it appears that the dining room at Black Bear is closed, while the B&B is still operating.

We had a lovely and memorable dinner at the Black Bear Inn to celebrate our anniversary. Our host and server was so lovely and kind. It's a very small and intimate venue with only about eight tables. The service was a bit slow, but that's because the wait staff consists of only two people, the chef and his girlfriend! The... More

Pretty setting. Nice but pretentious owners. Unbelievably delicious breakfast, however. Cabins are great for family. I liked it but its not my style. Super log cabiny decor but kind of cute. NOT pet friendly.

This cute little place has only 8 tables so you really need to make a reservation. It's on open table so easy to make one. The carrot soup with truffles was exceptional, the short rib special was also good, but the pasta I had was disappointing. Expect slow service as each dish is prepared individually. Enjoy the atmosphere over some... More

Amazingly terrific and dynamic food. The service was very poor, with sometime 2 or 3 servers or staff on the very small restaurant floor who never looked at us to see if we needed bread, more butter, water, something else, etc... A real disappointment for a relaxing evening, but the food WAS great! If you can handle the spotty service,... More

This was our first visit to the Black Bear Inn restaurant during Restaurant Week at Lake Tahoe. We were very pleased with the food, enjoying everything we ordered from appetizer to dessert. The wine was wonderful, the Black Bear Inn's own label. But, the service was incredibly slow and inattentive. The restaurant is actually a small area within the lobby... More
