Repeat visit this year was not as stellar

I've been coming to South Lake Tahoe for skiing many, many years and have always looked forward to a visit to Villa Roma. In the past the food was outstanding, impressive salad bar, good value, and hence long waits to get in. This year we were seated in a half-empty restaurant right away... read more

Visited TEPs Villa Roma again this year on our skiing vacation. Salad bar was good, but soup average. Last time I had the chicken dish which was smothered with tomato and in my mind spoiled the dish, but most of our party had the lasagne which seemed to go down well, so this year I went for the lasagne, but... Dinner at Tep's was very disappointing. The restaurant needs an update from Restaurant Impossible. It needs a facelift in the decor and especially the food. The salad bar (included in the price along with soup) started off with a mammoth bowl of lettuce that looked like it had been sitting there all day. All the lettuce I chose for my... More

Creepy interior . On a Wednesday night there were 2 tables occupied. The salad bar was very picked over and untidy appearing. A real turn off. My veal entree was a joke and tough as leather. Side of mushy pasta and bitter canned sauce. Yuck. Avoid this disgrace of a restaurant.

We just came from dining at Tep's and it was such a delight! Being married to an Italian the sauce aka gravy is key. Tep's sauce was delicious with a great balance of spices. I had my favorite dish, Angel hair and sausage and my hubby had the cheese ravioli's which were very good. They have a self-serve salad and... More

We were two families party of 10. Everyone enjoyed the food. Portions are very large. The salad bar is a meal in and of itself. Service was solid.

This a charming, old fashioned, down home Italian restaurant. Food was very tasty and reasonable. Lots of pasta combinations to choose from and very kid-friendly. Entrees come with all you can eat soup and salad bar which was well stocked with veggies, toppings and fruit. Plenty of choices for vegetarians as well. If you want a change from chain restaurants,... More

Since we were skiing all day we only wanted a casual dinner with a cozy atmosphere and this is what we got here. The restaurant is old school type of Italian Restaurant with very friendly and quick service. We got seated at a nice table right in front of the fire place. This was just perfect. They have a good... More

The food was great! There was a rush but the service was outstanding! They didn't take reservations and we had a large group but the wait was worth it!

They have a great salad bar and that alone could be good enough reason to visit this Italian Restaurant. They have chilled dishes at the salad bar, isn't that a great consideration by the establishment? How many places have these chilled dishes for your salad anymore? The menu is a classic Italian fare and its reasonably priced and its good.... More
