A lovely location but rather cramped and crowded : which may account for the rather slow service. If you are into trendy then this is for you.

This is a must do restaurant when visiting Kalk Bay. Every visit by me to Cape Town requires at least 2 to 3 stops at Olympia Whether its for the morning pastry run or for lunch; I am always amazed at how tasty every meal is. Fresh ingredients and a creative chef makes for great tasting dishes which are beautifully... More

Kalk Bay's Olympia Cafe was a disappointment even though what we ate was wholesome and tasty (seafood pasta and chicken sausages mash and veggies) it wasn't memorable. The menu is very limited and be aware that eggs are off from 1200. The service was adequate not attentive but friendly. The major disappointment was the grubby state of the place -... More

This must be the best place to eat. We went on two occasions and it was great on both accashions. The staff dont stop rushing about and it was full on both accassions. But the most important the food well its great and lots of it. I would love this place to be in Brighton.

I have heard of this quirky place, but had never crossed its threshold. It looked "odd" to me. Well, as they say, "one should never judge a book by its cover". We entered into a place that was, at first glance, a scene of disorganised chaos. When we were able to attract someone's attention, we were taken to a table... More

Excellent food. The waiters were very friendly. We had breakfast once and dinner for take away on another occasion (we wanted to enjoy a bottle of wine we had bought in a winery). The seafood linguine was superb.

Having heard many good things about Olympia over the years we were very disappointed with the reality when we finally visited. We were early, so the windows and doors hadn't yet been left open for the day, but the place was full of flies, and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Had we been on... More

Arrived 10 mins after opening time and felt a most unwelcoming vibe from a waitress with a very different hairstyle and lots of attitude. From half way to the kitchen she asked or rather shouted "coffee" I replied yes and please may I have a croissant- not quite begging but definitely interrupting. Coffee great but croissant very oily. What a... More

The menu is small but their is always something new and great to choose from. I love that I can go there and know that whatever I order it is going to be good, but go early because they fill up fast and can become crowded

The first time my husband parked outside the café, I thought 'This is not for me'. How wrong could I be! Over the last few years on our visits to Cape Town, Olympia Café has become a must. We have eaten breakfasts, lunches, and dinner - all have been excellent. They cook the best scrambled eggs my husband and I... More
