Have started going.to The White Horse in recent months usually at the weekend with friends and there is a regular clientele of customers who make you feel very much at home. The menu is above average and the meals never cease to delight. Went to a recent Sunday late afternoon session with a group of musicians playing a range of... More

The White Horse at Thruxton is an old pub that has hugely benefitted from family ownership and an excellent chef. The night we dined there, one of the junior chefs was on duty and she has obviously been very well schooled. The souffles were as light as can be and the lamb was beautifully presented and as delicious as it... More

We pulled off the road after seeing a sign for a Thatched Restaurant/Pub it was beautiful on walking in and staff were very welcoming. Although we were hungry and could have literally eaten anything by this point we were very very impressed with the food. I had the sausages with garlic mash, onion gravy and green beans and my husband... More

We have stopped at The White Horse several times over many years and always had a pleasant meal and drink. Our lunch stop last Friday, en route to stay with friends in Somerset, was a blessed oasis in terrible traffic jams. The food is all cooked on the premises and was delicious - the chicken and chorizo pie particularly memorable... More

It's not easy to guess where to stop on the A303. Thruxton is about halfway from London to Exeter. I had been to the race track many years before (they wouldn't let me do a lap because my Marlin Berlinetta was too noisy!), and thought that anywhere with an exciting motor sport venue would have a good foodie pub -... A great English pub, just off the A303, which is an ideal place to take a break in your journey. Good menu, good service, friendly staff. Worth a visit.

I was recommended to visit this pub by couple of people, but my experience was very disappointing. For a large fish and chips they ask £14.50! (Its not gordon ramsays kitchen) and it was one of the worst i had. Chips were so bad that i left most of it. The fish batter was so thick that fish made the... More

My sister and I stayed here for a night on the way to Devon...ideal as so close to A303. Requested a room away from road, and were given a very spacious one, complete with sofa and en-suite. Had dinner in the restaurant, and was of a very high standard, and totally delicious!! Good house wine, good, friendly service, and all... More
