We eat here on Thursday evening and used my "Tastecard" we saved 50% off the food part of the bill which was great. As you need to call and book this made it difficult because we didn't know what time we'd be there because of traffics on route to Torquay. They we very accommodating and made a note and when... Just off (or rather under) the A303, this picturesque thatched pub serves great food, provides very friendly service, and is simply our favourite place to stop in the area

If you are travelling on the A303 – a great place to stop. Good food & friendly service and homemade ice cream. The sandwich man on the A303 is a great idea bearing in mind how many signs on the A303 seem to lead to pubs which are now sadly closed

My Daughter was over from the state of Texas and we were new to the area ourselves so we were not sure where was a good place to eat out. Luckily my Daughter Googled the White Horse and I'm glad she did, we will definately be visiting again.

We were a large group with young children looking for somewhere to lunch after visiting Stonehenge. We wanted to eat somewhere that looked pretty (inside and out, lovely thatched roof) for our American visitors and had a big garden for the kids to have a good run-around BUT that had good food too. The 'White Horse' ticked all the boxes.... More

Visited last Sunday hadn't been to the pub for a number of years and thought we'd give it another try. Once again let down by the disappointing quality and quantity of food served to us. There was one mediocre slither of beef, 1 and half roast potatoes and tiny parsnip. Also very surprised to be offered a small or large... More

This place is one of those hidden gems you come across every now and again, this time an overnight stay on business helped me to find this off the beaten track place. Had a warm welcome on arrival and as the restaurant was busy I asked if I could get a table. This did not present any problem and the... More

The White Horse is one of those places you visit for a drink or a meal, it is considently good, the food is superb and the menu changes enough that you don't get bored! The staff are very friendly and helpful, it's an absolute pleasure to frequent.

Like many other reviewers, we went to the White Horse after visiting Stonehenge. What an excellent little pub! The place was heaving with the after-work crowd (unlike The George down the road), and the dining room was about half full. We were seated immediately and, starving, fell upon the menu like wolves. I had the fish and chips, my husband... More
