Kidnapping Craig in a box

We were recommended this pub by our b&b and, boy, were we glad we were. My husband and I both had amazing meals. The aubergine and courgette soup is amazing and Hubby was crazy about the duck. Also, the liquorice ice cream - YUMMY! We were lucky that the weekend we stayed in Thruxton, the... read more

First drink and meal in Britain for nearly a year and not a bad place at which to start. Rousing welcome, then we adjourned with dog to the garden for meals; one of fish and chips, the other arancini, and having only recently left Sicily, the arancini were very different, but good all the same. Menu a touch limited for... More

Went here for dinner two evenings recently and the food was excellent both nights. We had the al a carte the first night. The salt & pepper squid was lovely. Then had the sea bream fillet which was cooked to perfection and really tasty. Properly cooked vegetables mean't overall an excellent dish. We had glasses of prosecco with dinner which... More

Went here on a Groupon deal. Was very pleased with the service and quality of the food. Pub itself a little tired, but would go again!

We had lunch here recently, and really enjoyed the experience. We needed somewhere that didn't mind dogs, and they were happy to accomodate that, bringing out a water bowl into the garden where we sat for lunch. The food was excellent, chicken and chorizo pie, risotto, fish and chips and a beef sandwich were ordered and we all enjoyed our... More

Just returned from a smashing two night break at this lovely lovely old thatched Inn. A beautiful building in a very pretty setting. Our welcome was immediate and genuine. Young lady showed us to our room which was clean bright cosy warm and a good size over-looking the garden. The pub is beamed and cosy, several seating areas to choose... More

Went here this evening for a birthday meal as have been before and really enjoyed it. Had another delicious meal with friendly service but unfortunately our evening was marred by the presence of a large and extremely loud group of revelling men :(

The restaurant is charming and inviting and the garden looked fantastic to come and relax in the sunshine. my husband chose the large portion of... More

My partner and I found this restaurant by chance whilst travelling home from a trip. The service was fantastic and all staff were friendly and professional. The food was amazing! By far one of the best places we have eaten. The steak was delicious. It's just a shame it is so far from where we live, or we would eat... More
