This is a delightful cafe/restaurant that provides excellent low priced meals in a setting on the banks of the Clarence River. It is right beside the Pacific Highway and is an excellent break point for those driving the Sydney-Brisbane highway. We have eaten there twice in the past week and were most impressed. We think it should be better known, especially as the service is especially friendly.

Nestled on the banks of the river this little gem could be so easily missed. Take the time and stop off here for some superb coffee and the obligatory sugar hit. Had a half hour rest stop here and well worth it.

We arrived by boat, and stopped for lunch on the recommendation of locals. You could drive past on the Highway and never know this place was here! The food was excellent, and VERY good value for money: fresh, big portions, delicious and pretty cheap. The view is spectacular, we sat with the sun on our backs right on the edge... More

Ulmarra is a historic town 14 klms north of Grafton and we'll worth a visit. While your there check out the Cafe Clarence in the Ulmarra Hotel on the banks of the Clarence River. The food is excellent and the service quick and friendly. The hotel itself is worth a visit as it typifies the old aussie pub. The Cafe... More

What a find. After a night in Grafton (as a mid-way stop over on the way to the Sunshine coast) my family were very keen to get in to holiday mode, preferably over a plate of hot food. We hit up trip advisor (searching based on location and a few personal preferences) and discovered this magical little spot. I almost... More

We have enjoyed this location for lunch. The food is well priced and the location is beautiful alongside the river.

Located on the banks of the Clarence River the cafe is part of the Ulmara Hotel. As soon as you drive down Coldstream Road you are stepping back in time with the tonship having en established in the 1800's. We share the Salmon with Capers on Turkish bread wlhich was very nice. As we were sharing we ordered a side... More

Stopped here on the way back from Burleigh Heads to Grafton. I ordered the Steak Sandwich which was very nice. My sister ordered salmon which she enjoyed. It has a great piece of land behind the hotel where you can sit by the river and have lunch. There were water dragons running around near our table. Pleasant no fuss venue.... More

Lovely views out back over Clarence river with plenty of tables on lawn area to enjoy afternoon drink. The staff were very well presented and helpful. The dining area is beautifully set up. We had buffet meal for 48, plenty of food, the roast was cooked perfectly. Breakfast was plentiful and equally well cooked. Highly recommend as the regular menu... More

We have stopped here a a couple of times when travelling up the Pacific Highway, usually for coffee. The Ulmarra Hotel is only a hundred metres off the highway in the centre of town, right on the waterfront. Recently we stopped here for lunch. We had burgers (different types) and they were very good. The hamburger patty was made on... More
