Funky beach bar with great staff

We visited Royal beach nearly every weekend at the end of last year. Sunbeds are OK for the price 9€ for 2 inclusive parasol. Great cocktails at 5€ each, moquitos and strawberry daquiris are especially good, served to your sunbed. Hamburger and chips for only 5€, which is a great price for on the... read more

This to me is the best beach bar (Chiringuito) on the Costa del Sol, run by 2 brothers and staff, their menu is something to be reckoned with, the setting is fabulous and the service also, I would 100% recommend anyone to this fabulous place, if I have one quibble it would be parking, in saying that, the boys now... We visited here and hired sun beds for the day (9€ for 2) and enjoyed a hit day by the sea. We decided to have an alcohol drink each (southern comfort) which was quite expensive (13€ for 2) but upon tasting it we quickly realised why...there must have been about half a bottle of spirits in each large plastic cup... Stopped here for a few beers, they had a bbq just lit which I would have thought would have shortly had sardines cooking on them. Didn't stay too long as was walking along the beach to Cabo Pino. If you like reggae music on the beach then this is your place. You can hire pedalos, sunloungers and parasols. Friendly staff.

We had such a great day at the beach restaurant, we hired sun beds and spent the day relaxing with drinks then decided to go up to the balcony for dinner. We shared a gambas pil pil which was tasty, best we've had in Spain. Then for main I had the grouper, gorgeous fish not one I've tried before. It... More

We spent 16 days in Calahonda this summer. Our first time to this part of Spain. We spent it together with another family which had been in Calahonda 5-6 times before. But they had never been to Royal Beach. I found this place when I was out walking one of the first days and we ended up going here almost... More

Always the first port of call as soon as we arrive in calahonda! We usually stop here and order a variety of tapas dishes. The brothers that run the restaurant always on form with their shenanigans! Excellent views across the see. Kids usually play on the beach while we sit and watch the sea. Love it!

I have been coming here since it opened. At one point a few times a week when in the area. I don't get there as often as I would like but it never changes! Carlos always remembers faces and has never lost his sense of humour! The fish of any kind is always good and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend... More
