A fabulous quirky pub!

I love this pub, its quirky and nothing matches but what a wonderful place. As pub food goes, its not the best but the surroundings more than make up for it.

No Guinness or any other stout. Not many other real ales to choose from lots of lagers, so not a great start for me. Food was ok very limited starter menu about 50% on offer was deep fried. Main course was better, steaks well cooked, decent portion. Service was fast and friendly, cosy interior. Overall nothing special so no reason... More

We have been to the White Bear a couple of times now. The first was actually by accident but what a find. Out with Brother in Law and wives and on the way to Addington when the satnav took us past the pub. Brother in Law said that was where his Mum and Dad (and my wife's) used to meet... More

We recently visited The White Bear for a family celebration . We were greeted warmly by friendly staff & had a delicious meal . A special mention to a delightful young man called Luke who went out of his way to make our evening a very happy & memorable occasion ! We will return !!

Been here twice now and can see this becoming a regular haunt. I love all the cost alcoves, this place seems to be able to fit lots of people in without it wver feeling overcrowded. The first time was for lunch which was really nice - I reccommend the club sandwhich!! We provably ended up staying for 3 hours with... More

A very busy gastro pub. Booking essential. Really nice and quirky interior. The seatting is in rooms off of the main bar. Staff extremely friendly, welcoming and efficient. Don't expect cordon bleu but this is good wholesome well cooked food at reasonable prices. A testament to how busy it is. The normal array of lagers complimented by some nice ales.

We decided to go to the White Bear at short notice on a Sunday. We were lucky enough to get seated without a reservation. I had a tasty roast beef Sunday lunch, my husband had a steak and ale pie which he thoroughly enjoyed, and our friend had scampi which he said was very good. I even managed a dessert... More

There were eight of us on New Year's Eve plus a three week old baby so we sat in an alcove to ourselves. The service was great and so was the food. But it's the place itself that was so memorable. Beautiful building, a real character place steeped in history. With old world beams and fireplaces. Just love it.

Well I have been visiting The White Bear for 15 years now, lunch, dinner and special occasions and I have to say it is my favourite place to go, the character of the building makes the experience even better, in the summer you have the barbecue going and you can sit outside and in the winter you have the atmosphere...
