I have been to this pub a few times now. The setting and decor is lovely BUT the menu needs a serious revamp. The only way I can describe this was boring! I felt so unspirired with the boring bland menu choices! Mix it up a bit!

I've eaten here with business clients 3 times over the last couple of years as their place of choosing. Most recent was yesterday and once again very good. Thing is...in a business lunch you are focused on what you are there to do business about and so be oblivious to your setting? Well no. The setting can make all the... More

I had lunch here today ,and chose the steak and ale pie, along with my husband. My son had Lamb shank. The pastry for this pie was horrible,it had a metallic taste, the sort of taste that I associate with fat or lard going rancid.I did not eat the pastry and neither did my husband. My son had a taste of my pastry... More

Good wide choices at lunchtime including smaller plates and specials. The food was very tasty and it was well served and good value. The pub has a wide choice of beers and outside seating and kitchen

We meet up here regularly as it is a central point for us and family members, the last time we met in May we were all struck at the improvement in the food quality and the decor of the place -toilet refurb.

Have been here many times since i originally stumbled on it ( after taking a wrong turn!) and am never disappointed. The building itself is centuries old and inside it has tables and booths, low beamed ceilings, glorious log fires in the winter, wood floors and a proper olde English Inn feel. Great atmosphere whether full or calm, service at... More

Been here a few times with family now, and it's been consistently great each time. The Fish and Chips are phenomenal, and the Pork Belly is just to die for. Slowly working my way through the menu! Staff are always attentive and friendly, and I'm looking forward to coming back soon!
