It's been a couple of months since we've been & in that time the menu's been changed. Fish & chips & liver & bacon have disappeared (+ a few others that I can't remember). Whilst my game pie was fine my wife's well done sirloin steak was tough & the sausages in my son's sausage & mash weren't as good... More

We really enjoyed the food when we went for lunch yesterday. The portions were substantial - even teenage boys found 3 courses a bit much! The steaks were really well cooked and the puddings delicious. All the staff were very friendly. We will definitely go back.

Visited for Sunday lunch on 10 August 2014. A haven from the bad weather on our journey - looked idyllic from the outside. Roast was okay (potatoes were Aunt Bessie's or something similar), and for pub food that you order yourself at the bar, a bit pricey. Nice surroundings but staff are non-descript - certainly no warm welcome, or even... More

A lovely 16th century black and white pub with original beams and large open fire places. Lots of inglenook areas to eat in. Very pretty outside decked everywhere with hanging baskets with a large garden seating area, and terraced areas to eat outside. We had a 10 oz Sirloin Steak meal. It was mouthwatering and the steak cut like butter.... More

We met some friends here for a catch up on a mid-weekday evening. The food was lovely, and the service was fab. We'll go back!

This was a Family get together with four generations present to celebrate an engagement, a third Birthday and an impending major Op for the Patriarch (me). The food needed to cover a 3-86 age range including a diabetic and a tomato intolerant and the menu easily covered that. Everyone found the food good and the nine of us were seated... More

Used to go here all the time as a family and we thought we'd go back as we remembered it so fondly. Our jolly evening was immediately dampened down by the bar maid who served us who was quite frankly just plain rude and miserable. Service was slow despite not being hugely busy and the rest of the staff we... More

The service was brilliant and quick. Ordered the belly of pork and it was cooked to perfection, crackling was lovely and veg was cooked just right. Not a massive amount to choose from but our party of 12 all found something they liked and not a single complaint. Lovely gardens to sit in. I Would recommend this resturant to friends.

I have been to this pub a few times now. The setting and decor is lovely BUT the menu needs a serious revamp. The only way I can describe this was boring! I felt so unspirired with the boring bland menu choices! Mix it up a bit!
