Lovely location and fresh authentic food

Lovely location (albeit a bit windy) and stunning freshness of the authentic food left you wanting more. The goat fish was delicious and the sweet grilled aubergine amazing and unique. Marzamemi is a lovely old fishing village with a large piazza with several restaurants around the edge. La Cialoma has tables on the piazza but also has a terrace overlooking the sea. Everything we had was good, especially the carpaccio of prawns and the fresh tuna, although the tuna was quite well cooked so if you want it less well... More

Great pasta, not the cheapest one but very tasty and - the scenery. Very beautiful seaside terrace which you find walking around the corner - can´t walk through house because of the kitchen. Maybe piazza side is good in the evenings but lunch time: the terrace by the sea!

The location is excellent but cannot say the same for the food I am afraid. The pasta was bland and the rest seemed like a half hearted effort. In Italy I expect pasta cooked far better than what I am used to at home ! The waiters seemed lost and the food was not placed on the table at the... More

La cialoma is the name of the ancient songs of the fisherman during the mattanza that is the fishing of tuna passing here in front of this little fanyastic village. And La Cialoma is a restaurant perfectly interpretation the food and simply elegant (simplicity elegance9 atmosphere of the mediterranean sea cuisine. tuna was todays catch and it was superb. the... If you see my reviews, I always value the overall experience. In this case the overall experience is great. You are on the square of Marzamemi, and it is better than a movie set because it's the real thing. You sit down at twilight, take a sip of cool white sicilian, mineral wine, and relaz. Look around. Feel the place.... More

After 10 days eating and drinking our way around Sicily, we drove down to see Marzamemi, a growing tourist attraction. La Cialoma's seaside location and bright flower-pots provide a very pleasant ambience. The ristorante was fairly crowded, so the service was (understandably) not swift - but the food was some of the best we'd tasted. That said, the prices (while... More

Such a lovely setting and excellent food in Marzamemi. We ate so well and were spoilt for choice in terms of what was on the menu. Would have loved to go back to try more.

We stopped in Marzamemi on an excursion out of Siracusa, and discovered this place. The location is great, with a view of the sea. Slightly windy, but its right on the ocean. Marzamemi is a "Tonnara", a small fishing village where they catch tuna. The food was great. The waiters were friendly and attentive, but as with most Sicilian waiters... More
