Eaten here enough times to know it's always good. Day or night. Really good food. Nice variety on the menu. Expect really good quality, not a hug plateful of average. As good as they get round PZ. But, a fair bit cheaper than those directly competing. And, a cracking open fire.

We booked a table last night for 5 in the restaurant. Although slightly understaffed, the staff ran around busily and nobody was kept waiting. The menu was small, but really fresh. (Which is great) four of us had the burger, which was a hand crafted minced beef burger, gorgeous tasty cheese topping and the glazed bun. Hand cook chips were... More

I ate here with my wife and 3 young children whilst on holiday and was not disappointed. The serving staff were brilliant, they let us move table and were great with the kids. The food was great and the ale selection is local and fantastic. Thanks for a lovely evening

Came here on recommendation of family member and as we are on hols in area . really enjoyed food both nights we came . Had the early bird menu which was great value / also the bar smacks kind of tapas style . All seemed really flavoursome and fresh and nicely cooked . Menu interesting with good choice but not... Came down to Penzance with the family for a week and discovered this fabulous inn who welcomed us and our two dogs; had some lovely food (would recommend the dressed crab). Vincent is friendly and great with the kids; enjoyed the experience so much that we made it our local for the whole week. Lovely chill out music too.

We went along with Vincent's sense of humour initially, when he told us if we chose the most boring dish on his menu, we'd only get paper napkins. We were served two of the same dishes, though we'd ordered two different ones. As there were no staff in sight for about 15 minutes, I eventually just ate mine. Our drinks didn't... More

Food lived up to the menu, all really tasty. It was all fresh food as well. The waiter had really good knowledge of their wines as well as the menu. Will visit again, and recommend to friends.

We stayed one night here which was our first night of a five night break visiting Cornwall. We got room 3 which I knew from reading previous reviews was great as we wouldn't be as disturbed by the church clock that is situated right opposite the pub. A lovely BIG room with a fantastic power shower. We ate in the... More

Not much to write home about. The food was OK, although the chicken liver parfait was not very nice. Fortunately there wasn't much of it. The pub doesn't have much atmosphere, and the menu isn't very inspired. The landlord and waiting staff were efficient and polite - friendly would be stretching it a bit. It wouldn't be top of my...
