Pleasant but is that enough

There is a lot of competition in this area regarding Vietnamese food so you need to be on top of your game. This is a bit too overpriced for what you get. My 'special' tofu dish - tofu bonfire - was basically tofu in a special pot that was lit on fire accompanied with veges & rice paper. It cost... read more

Fatty meats. Flavourless dishes. Gluggy pork. Ew. Stuffed anything is filled with dry mince. This place is overpriced and not worth the trip. Stay home and cheese on toast will leave you more satisfied. Papaya salad would be edible without the pork. Other than that!? Run!

I booked here as my mum and I were going to The Factory theatre and this was the closest restaurant. Simon Baker was dining at the table beside us so we thought if it's good enough for a Hollywood star, it's good enough for us! The wait staff were so delightful. Really friendly and just gorgeous. we ordered the duck... More

A local and many time patron of this restaurant, I brought an interstate friend here last night along with my partner and they were both amazed at the quality and freshness of the food. I tend to order the same thing so the owner helped us to order and we were not disappointed with any of the dishes. We had... More

The Bay Tinh was started by a master chef who worked for the king, when there was a King... or maybe he was just the King of Chefs... I was worried that one day when he retired that things might change. I worried for nothing, the standard here has never dipped, the food has always been excellent and fresh and... More

The food at Bay Tinh used to much better. For years it was a hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant, no fancy decor - just amazing food. Unfortunately, since a renovation and a change in ownership, the food is so - so. Depending on what you order, it can be outstanding or not good at all. We went there last... More

I have been coming to this restaurant since Harry took over about 8 years ago and have had consistently good food here. I recently visited with my brother and his partner who had never eaten in Marrickvile before. They were amazed at the food at a Harry's and were blown away by the pork spring rolls, the garlic prawns and... More

I went here to show my gf the food that my culture has to offer. I have never been so embarrassed. Took 30 minutes for the rice paper rolls to come out, and they looked like two bite size spring rolls with no mint leaves or herbs. The canh chua was overly sweet. I told them this isn't normal, tasted... More

I must be easily pleased but I have been to this restaurant in the last 3 months about 3 times when going to see a show at The Factory theatre and I have had nothing but a wonderful experience. The servings are generous, the food is fresh, the staff are attentive and the pricing is very reasonable. I have not... More

Dining at Bay Tinh is like a trip down memory lane. While I can’t claim to have been dining here for all of its twenty-eight year history, I have spent many an evening in the (previously putrid pink) space, albeit mostly when it was in the hands of predecessor and founder, Tinh Tran. In the ensuing three decades, Sydney’s Vietnamese... More
