This is more than a cafe, more like a bistro. The offer is mainly locally sourced produce and fish caught by local fishermen. My wife and I started with goujons of plaice, new on the menu that day, - full of flavour unlike the frozen versions. We followed with Mediterranean prawns, larger and better presented than those we find on... More

It depends on your expectations I guess but this great location beach bar could be SO brilliant. I had mackerel to start and absolutely no attempt was made to disguise that it was straight out of the packet and chucked on my plate. We had fish and chips which was Icelands finest. Came with birds eye peas. The waitresses cant... More

Escaped the hell of local holiday park to go to the great laid-back atmosphere at Rye Bay Cafe. The owner is an excellent character who makes you feel extremely welcome and the staff can't do enough for you. One even tolerated my friend's interrogation regarding every pudding on the menu. The food is great- real sense that the cafe is... More

We had lunch here while on holiday in Camber Sands. Lunch was cooked to order, fresh and hot. Every meal in our party (6) was excellent, just a shame we found this gem at the end of our holiday!

We ate here quite a few times and Graham and staff could not have been nicer. The food was always great and make sure you book first so you don't miss out

We were so looking forward to eating here based on previous reviews. Certain things grated on us such as being shown to our table & just left. The menu is on a board outside but we had to go & ask what the process was. Not the end of the world but as the staff were so nice it may... More

We rang in the vain hope that we could find a table, 6 is always hard and it was Saturday, we had to be seated 15mins before we wanted but this wasn't a big deal. We were so pleased with our choice. The young lady who took our order was informative and a real pleasure. The younger members of the... More

My friend recommended this cafe after seeing the reviews. We went for lunch and chose the fish and chips after smelling the wonderful aroma walking down to the street. The owner and his staff were extremely friendly, the cafe was clean and authentic looking seeing as it was right by the beach. The fish was amazing, fresh, flaky with a... More

Stumbled upon this little spot whilst staying in Camber. Wish we'd found it earlier in the week. Fab spot, by far the best food we had all week. Fresh fish was perfect. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended - unlike our holiday home which sadly isn't listed on here.

Lovely little find. walked and was found a table for 7 people. All of us enjoyed our meal in lovely surroundings with friendly staff. Actually made us forget that we were staying in awful Pontins for a few hours. Not to expensive and very clean. I would definitely return.
