A typical British pub in which you can try tasteful meals and drink high quality beer or cider. The place is very nice and the staff is very polite. Recommended!

More of a restaurant than a pub. Foods reasonably priced and above average for pub grub. Burgers are nice and they do a 2 for £16 deal Monday to Wednesday. Also had the wraps which are a cheaper but equally good option. Pub wise it's pretty poor. Not much atmosphere and only a few stools at the bar. Can't knock... More

We went here off the cuff on Tuesday night and had a burger each. My partner had the wild Boar one and I had the Angus burger with cheese. It was fairly quiet and the waitresses were very attendant. The burgers were great, really juicy and definitely tasted home made. The service was fast and we got two burgers and... More

This used to one of my favourite places to go, especially steak night. It now seems prices are going up and quality of food is going down. They never quite got your order right, but that was part of the charm, now that the quality and prices have changed, the getting your order wrong (from forgetting your starter to wrong... More

Hi I'm sorry to hear of your complaint when you last visited the Duke and I can assure you that we would never accept our standards to drop. It seems on this visit we made a mistake and I apologise for forgetting your starter and our quality of meat is usually great so I'm surprised that your steak was a... More

I am not a fan of pub food or pubs in general but this one exceeded my expectations. Such of nice place to even take your laptop or enjoy an afternoon weekend I usually order the earth burger and I must say this is delicious!

Just had lunch here with the hubby, he ordered chilli nachos and was happy with that. I ordered cod and "Yorkie chips" and "freshly made mushy peas". OK, firstly, what on earth are Yorkie chips?? Because what I had, seemed to be frozen jacket potato chips. The mushy peas were, I suspect, mashed up frozen peas, and as anyone from... More

Needed sustainence while shopping. The menu displayed outside was attractive. Good welcome by the staff. Friendly pub, warm and comfortable a bit of a wait for the food but very good when it arrived. The toilets were clean, but they need a plumber to sort out a couple of things, not serious problems.

Nice decor and ambiance. However burger was raw in middle. Pointed it out due to risks ( and best practice normally seen) and head lady shakes her head and waitress says they normally cook them medium rare! Head lady very short and no apology when I was paying bill -not good customer service . Won't be going back -better restaurants... More

Was coming to see a friend in the area and we ended up at his local pub on a sunny day. What a great service, simple robust pub food as we like it , great outside space and fabulous atmosphere, we met Brendan the owner with whom we had a great chat and a good laugh. Txs for a beautiful... More

Food well below average. Have no idea why it gets such a good review here. Dirty table when I sat down.Over cooked fish and far from fresh, with disproportionate sides. The upside is friendly staff but generally not interested. Was 'offered' a 10% discount on a meal I didn't eat and when questioned backed down and seemed very relieved when... More
