A comfortable and relaxed traditional pub restaurant, The Duke of York is located in suburban Surbiton, just fifteen minutes from Hampton Court Palace and a short train journey from London's Waterloo. Warm service is The Duke of York's signature, making every visit a memorable one and encouraging diners and drinkers to return time and again to enjoy this lovely pub's wonderful atmosphere. Serving traditional ales and modern British food - don't miss Thursday's Steak Night or Sunday lunch - and retaining that old school pub feel, The Duke of York is nonetheless popular with a young, fashionable crowd, particularly thanks to great live music and friendly jam sessions on Monday nights.

Excellent service

One evening I was at a loose end for dinner. Didn't feel like cooking but wanted something that wouldn't break the bank either. Aha, Gastro pub my mind suggested. So I went in search of a local place and came across the Duke of York on Victoria road. What a wonderful serendipity. I was fortunate... read more

my daughter and I went to share an evening together here and I was very disappointed! I ordered a chicken dish and we shared the cheapest bottle of wine on the very pricey menu for about £ 17 pounds! The wrong dish was given to me and despite many attempts to attract the waitress attention I ended up following her around... no change was made before and after the renewal. Food was so bad that it could not get worse than this. Service was excellent, although we waited very long time for our food to be served. I will never go here to have some food. It was such a waste of money and I had to grab a kebab afterward!... More

Since changing hands, this month this pub has gone from strength to strength. Not only is the food great (MUST try the buttermilk fried chicken burger) but the main thing is that the service is very friendly which is a marked difference from how things used to be here. I'd also recommend trying the ales here - particularly the one... More

I managed to reserve a table for four, for Friday night, I was informed the the evening entertainment was not to be missed, we started with pre-dinner drinks, then the food was ordered, the fare is pub food, but with a twist, you can have squid starters to ostrich burgers, steaks, then a selection of home made delicious deserts, We... I've popped in a few times recently as they always seem to have good deals on. Met up with a friend I haven't seen in a while and met her new baby. We went for a burger each on the deal menu and had a nice afternoon, food is good, we didn't feel rushed out and they kept a tab... More
