Could not have been to a better place. Worth the drive from rochester and do it often because of the fact this place has best atmosphere, by far best food, beautiful location, best staff, great prices than any other restaurant I've ever been to in my life and that is really saying a lot. I drive an hour happily just... More

Well now that the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper has spilled the beans, this delightful bistro in the Finger Lakes is sure to stay busy! We drove all the way from Rochester to check it out (and the beautiful fall foliage) and were not Only the cinnamon swirl French toast did not get excellent reviews - overly chewy. Added bonus was... Hi Traveltime841 Thanks for taking the time to post a review. It's always appreciated and not only for the positive comments but the constructive ones, as well. I wanted to acknowledge your comment that the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast was chewy. I knew our homemade bread didn't come out right this week and we shouldn't have served it. I feel... More

The Brown House is a friendly little restaurant on route 64 South Bristol west of Lake Canandaigua. It is a year since we were here last but it continues to impress. It has a limited dining menu but the quality of cooking is astounding. We had perfect French Onion soup. Right from the first sip, you knew they had got... More

We have enjoyed many meals at the Brown Hound Bistro- both brunch and dinner, as a couple and as a family. Highly recommended are the Beef Wellington and seafood bisque. There are plenty of choices for brunch and Finger Lakes Coffee roaster's Jamaican Me Crazy as the perfect accompaniment. The atmosphere is quaint and relaxed, with local artists paintings and... We ate outside, listening to live acoustic guitar music, enjoying incredible combinations of local fare. We started with an excellent soup of kale in a tomato base. For the main course the chef paired local vegetables with various meats, and he did offer a vegetarian option as well. We can vouch for the beef Wellington, beef tenderloin, pork loin, and... More

We stopped here for Sunday brunch on our way out of town after a long weekend in the area. This is an adorable stop with a delicious menu. We received excellent service from the mother-daughter team. The coffee (a local from the region) was delicious and I really enjoyed the smoked salmon plate. Everything was fresh and prepared with care.... More
