Horrible service!

A person at the hotel referred this place to us. The owner seemed very nice when we first walked in. It took a very long time for someone to take our drink order then waited a long time to get the drinks. The owner finally came over to tell us about the "walk and talk" menu. We ordered and then... read more

As everyone should know by NOW: " THERE ARE NO MENUS" It is simply Jaanchis (the owner) who sits by you and calmly offers you all! Place is not cheap! We visited twice and we enjoyed. The 1st time they were out of Iguana Stew, which is the primary reason for the visit, so Jaanchis promised us for the next... More

This restaurant was recommended by many people on the island so we made a stop after visiting the Shete Boka park. It is on the very western tip of the island. Very nice service people - there is NO menu, the owner just sits down at your table and tells you what they have that day (so you also don't... More

this is one of the oldest restaurants on the island. it has its charms as they dont have a real menu card but explain to you what dishes they serve per day. there is a cute lil garden with a lot of birds. the food is good, but i had better... so its nice to experience this place after enjoying... The atmosphere was magnificant! Little knick nacks and stories here and there. The owner is the walking menu and his personality is wonderful. He eventually comes and sits with you to tell you what is on the menu for the day, although he neglects to inform of prices! Service was extremely slow. The restaurant was not busy, after 2.5 hours of... More

Several people recommended this place when we said we were driving up to Westpunt. The place is admittedly charming and the owner has a sweet manner about him, personally chatting through the menu etc, but we thought the food was way below par. My wife had the fish of the day, a little fillet of grouper that was over salted... More

This was a much recommended place. Divers frequent here on their way back from Alice in Wonderland. We stopped by a few times only to be turned way because they were closed. One day we stopped by in the AM to inquire about hours. The lady said we will close at 6pm, maybe 7pm. So we made it a point... More

After sitting ignored for more than 1.5 hours we decided to get up and leave. The place was full of people, some who had come before us who had still not received any food. What a waste of time.

30/12/14 visited. Ordinarily this is not the kind of place that most people who are visitors to Curaçao would even consider going to in their own neighbourhoods. But here we are looking for that ultimate local cuisine off the beaten track. Here is what to expect, funky eccentric decor bordering on real junk. Probably not the good service you are... More

A local at our hotel told us to try Jaanchies if we were going to west punt area of the island. Said we should not miss the goat stew. After a day at the beaches, we drove back toward Jaanchies just to try it. So the spry looking man told us to sit anywhere so we grabbed a table near... More
