Do not go hungry

Got there after a fairly long drive. I understand island time but this was touristy time. Not the local place we thought we were getting but definitely aimed at the tourist crowd with tour busses and everything. At a not busy lunch time we were there more than an hour before we got our iguana soup... read more

We visited here 7 years ago and nothing has changed. The food is as good as we remembered it. Mr. Jaanchie still pulls up a chair beside your table to tell you what is on the menu and to take your order. The birds are delightful and the meal is unforgettable. Its worth the drive. Arrive with an appetite. Opens... More

What a fantastic experience. It is a "scene" in an idyllic setting with beautiful birds at feeders right outside the open windows. The food is prepared to your specifications but also with local flair. The owner comes to the table and tells you what he has and takes your order personally. Go out of your way to eat here!

I didn't read all the reviews till after we went there and didn't expect to see so many negative reviews. However, we came here for lunch and were not aware of the 'no available' menu. So when the owner sat down we had a nice little talk and chose for the fish/ meat combo and the iguana of course. Having... More

After a day of driving all over West Punt to explore every beach we stumbled upon Jaanchies….the owner welcomed us with great enthusiasm and of course fed the sugar birds much to our ohhhs and ahhhhassss….Yes the "walking menu" is unique but we live by Aurther Ave in NYC and are used to it. The food came quickly and was... More

This restaurant has been in operation for more than half a century. It distinguishes itself with good typical Curacao dishes, special bird mini-terracces and full attention from the owner, Jaanchi, who himself is way past retirement age, but who keeps pouring love into his restaurant. Yes it is a tourist trap, but if all tourist traps were as charming as... More

We drove here after a recommendation from our kayak guide. The entire experience made for a perfect day. We arrived with the late lunch crowd; we quickly ordered goat stew and grouper with rum punch to drink. Our food was out in no time and we were serenaded by local musicians throughout our meal. The food was on point and... More

This is a local restaurant with no frills but tasty food and drinks at a reasonable price. Located near Knepa Beach. The manager will come to your table and explain the menu and the day's special. There are several bird feeders outside the restaurant which attract many colorful birds.

The only good thing about this restaurant are the birds. We spent a torturous two hours waiting for a simple lunch that, at best, was mediocre. The wait staff is so slow that we had to refill our own water glasses! While the "walking menu" is a nice touch, please be aware that prices are not given. When you get... More

No written menu, this guy can charge you whatever he wants and will! Food was average at best, be ready to wait and feel unwelcome, oh well, live and learn.
