The positives are the atmosphere, with live music and birds flying around. After that, it's all downhill. The owner is indeed personable, with his "talking menu", but the food is mediocre and totally overpriced. This is a lovely island, and there are so many good places, this review is intended to help others avoid our mistake. Please take it in... More

Everything is fun about this place. The talking menu. The food. The birds. The people. It's worth the trip to Westpunt.

Although Jaanchie's is about an hour drive from Willemstad it was worth the trip! If you want really savoury local food this is the spot to visit. Jaanchie himself takes your order and explains the dishes. The service was prompt. The atmosphere was beautiful with birds feeding just outside the eating area. If you feel adventurous be sure to try... More

I enjoyed the food at Jaanchies. Nice to get an authentic feel for the island. Jaanchie was very friendly and personable. The birds were an interesting view as well.

The experience is unique. No menus, Jaanchie sits with you to describe the choices of the day. It is a very local experience. Always try the fresh caught fish. The conch is very good too. And iguana is a local specialty - at least try it. We think the prices are a bit higher than some others, but the experience... More

On Jaanchie’s tables you won’t find a menu. Why should there be? After all, the menu changes daily, for Jaanchie only serves what is freshly caught and bought in. So the patron ambles up to your table, finds out your preferences (fish? meat?) and tells you a mouth-watering story about the dish he has on offer, specially prepared according to... More

A unique dining experience, as there is no menu. Jaanchie himself comes to your table and gives you various options, mostly seafood style dishes, but also beef stew and even iguana. Good food, good service, thoroughly enjoyed it. Give it a try.

The restaurant offers a home feeling and an opportunity to eat local Curacao food which is not Dutch as many of the restaurants offer. The owner comes over and explains the food for the day and takes your order. The man can speak 7 languages so almost no matter who you are he can help you. The food is delicious... More

This is a delightful restaurant in a beautiful setting. You sit by open windows and lacy curtains watching colorful birds in the bird feeders. The food is delicious, especially the shrimp and pork chops. Like other places in Curacao, it could benefit from a more extensive dessert menu.

The food fair, no prices until you get your bill and expensive for what your get. Also, the service is terrible, it takes an hour just to get a glass of water and you lucky if you get a refill of water coke or whatever.. I would never go back or recommend this restaurant. I was really disappointed it was... More
