Good Place to Stop

This is a favorite for great coffees, lovely teas, decadent sandwhiches, cakes and pastries. I love stopping here for a treat mid-shopping trip! Its an inexpensive place to stop and relax. iTs generally not very loud, but its still abuzz with conversation.

I was first introduced to Myatts on a visit to Cape Town a few years ago and based on the excellent service and food options, we decided to visit once again. The first visit we were told that they had an electricity problem and they would not be able to serve us at all (not even pre-made desserts??) The second... More

We were introduced to this cafe by a friend of ours who happened to know the owner personally. The ambience of the cafe is very good. we visited it on few occasions and found the coffee, teas and menus very good. The restaurant definitely lacks owner's supervision. We went to the restaurant at just after 9pm. Even though there were... More

Located in a busy centre, the colorful chairs bought my attention to this shop.. Staff was friendly the food was good but they need to work on the extremely slow time it takes coffee or the food to come to the tables ...food is priced for up market but I will think twice about visiting again unless the kitchen gets... This is a beautifully decorated cafe with lovely interior design. Very bad service and I ordered a scone which was brought so absolutely hard and falling apart with cheese that I ordered extra for R12 which was fine until you see that they LIE to you on the menu. On the menu they say "ementhaler cheese" and i ordered that.... More

My husband and I had coffee at Myatt this morning for the first time My latte was watery and bitter and not improved by extra milk. My husband found his OK, the cup cake was good. We ordered chocolates to be packed as a gift This took an inordinate amount of time so we hope they are worth it. Loads... More

A very upmarket place for afternoon during one of our visits to the V & A Waterfront. The choice of macaroons is amazing. We just had a very simple small tea and it's not expensive considering the location. Lovely plush ambience. If you're into proper afternoon tea then this is definitely the place to go.

Myatt is the ultimate treat. The salon is beautiful decorated with great eye for detail; fresh flowers on every table, a central table display where you can help yourself to some lemon and mint water and find an array of international newspapers, coffee and tea are served in beautiful cups and saucers made of fine bone porcelain, friendly and educated... My fave for a cup of tea and delicious macaroons, croissants alike in V&A Waterfront. Beautiful setting and not too crowded. Perfect

What better place to rest weary bones after all that hard shopping than the Myatt Cafe in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. This is a classy place with great service, a very distinctive interior design and heavenly macaroons. Try it out.
