We had an impromptu tea at the pub after a busy day - the food is served from 6pm and works with the kids' bedtimes. There is a large car park. The Landlady kindly adapted the meals to suit the kids likes/dislikes. Food was delicious - lasagne, scampi, baked spuds, puddings of cheesecake, Bread & Butter pudding and Chocolate Sponge.... More

We've justed attended a fantastic Mediterranean food evening at the Greyhound. The pub is under new patronage with mine hosts Brenda and Paul. Paul has proving to be an excellent chef and the food last night could not be faulted. The service was great and we'll certainly be attending more of their theme nights. Food and drinks were very reasonably... More

This a really lovely pub, great in winter as it had 3 fires and lovely garden for summer. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. Love the food here!

We were staying up the road and after a long walk in muddy conditions the pub was a welcome sight. All being city dwellers we were concerned about entering in our muddy boots. Clearly this is a regular occurrence and our worries were dismissed easily by staff. The food was lovely, drinks a reasonable price, clean warm toilets and welcoming... More

I called in for lunch during a ramble of the area. The bar and dining areas have been recently refurbished and are clean and contemporary. The lunchtime menu was restricted to soup and sandwiches or baguettes. I ordered a chicken and bacon baguette with pint of local bitter. The baguette - really a demi baguette - arrives on a cumbersome... More

The Greyhound, which has recently been refurbished, is now a free house and belongs to 3 committed locals who are concerned that there should be a pub in the village and that it should be the heart of village life. The beer is excellent with a good choice. The meat is all bought from the independent butcher in Wantage and... More

My wife and I have started using The Greyhound again, as it has recently been bought and is now a Free-House, with a great selection of beers and a very tempting menu. We have tried eating there and the food was excellent, very well cooked and served on a nice wooden board - very individual! The pub has been refurbished... More

This pub has been refurbished now (June 2012) and the restaurant area has been enlarged. The steaks are really good! So tender don't even have to chew and the prices are reasonable too. I also went on a Sunday for the Sunday lunch. A choice of meat was on offer including Greshingham Duck for the same price as the lamb,... More

After a long day out walking along the Ridgeway, something substantial was needed. As far as pub grub goes, it was an average steak pie with veg. Wouldn't receive any awards for culinary flair, but enough to keep the wolf from the door. Take it for what it is. Friendly atmosphere and staff, which helped.
