Blown away

A fabulous selection on the menu along with a few other options on the specials board. Our meals were beautifully presented and so tasty! A flavour sensation for the veggies and non veggies alike. A new favourite. We will be back.

Cafe Roya (along with the former Squeak/Salamander) restaurant in Nottingham serves the best Vegan food I have ever had, the Vegan options are amazing, it's a different dining experience every time we go.

Best food for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters. No matter what dietary requirement you have, Royas will cater for it and make your experience as personal as possible. The staff are lovely! Presentation is brilliant and done with a lot of precision and imagination. The flavour combos are innovative - on every visit I am in awe of the flavour... More

I have read many reviews, from meat eaters, who think that this restaurant defies the 'bland' impression of vegetarian food. We (non vegetarians, that is) tend to think that it is very hard to create a tasty plate of food without a big lump of flavoursome meat in the middle of it. Whilst I have become more open to vegetarian... More

A wonderful surprise to find such a place in a small town like Beeston: no need to go to the city centre to eat good food! The interior style is very nice, with candles and small details that make you feel warm, almost like at home. The waiters pays attention to you, being friendly but not excessively present. The food... More

I'm a regular who lives locally and even manage to get my carnivore friends and family visiting with me. Excellent food, service and atmosphere every time. Prices are a touch higher that chain restaurants but this is understandable to keep an independent restaurant with locally sourced produce going. Definitely worth the extra few quid for an outstanding meal!

Our second visit - with family. Everything about the meal was amazingly good. We began by sharing a platter of bread, olives, humus, etc. Then 2 of us followed with the Christmas pie - a wonderful combination of not always identifiable flavours - beautifully presented. And then the ginger and date pudding with ice cream was unbelievable. We'll be back soon.

If you're after the unusual and surprising in vegetarian food, then this is definitely for you. I am not a vegetarian, but have really enjoyed the food. You won't find any boiled veg here. The atmosphere is lovely and the service friendly. They cater to food allergies (hurray!) especially if you call ahead, and will offer alternatives. Highly recommended.

My husband and I are not vegetarian, but part of the family is. We were there as hosts for a dinner celebrating a family birthday. The food was very innovative, different, delicious. I really enjoyed it and my other three vegetarians guests also (well, my husband was not so sure of was he called "The experience"). However, the noise around... More

It's always hard to write a review which contrasts so much with that of other reviewers. The inclination is to think that one is being a bit too critical and somehow out of step with general opinion. Nevertheless I shall speak as I find and I found the experience of dining at Roya's totally underwhelming and very disappointing. Vegetarian restaurants... More
