While visiting Cragside we asked a member of staff if he could recommend an eating place out of Cragside, Lovely old pub/restaurant. Good value for great food. We had a roast dinner - 2 for &10.99, no brainer. Desserts were expensive - &4.95, didn't have one due to over priced. The staff were very friendly

This is only one of 3 pubs in Northumberland (there are around 450 in England) that's on the motorhome stopover website. That means you can park in the (far end) of the car park free as long as you have a meal. Now by chance we pulled into the car park at the same time as a much newer, top... More

We picked the Three Wheat Heads from the Motorhome Stopover Guide and we were not disappointed! The owner/chef was very welcoming; the bar is dog-friendly and we had an excellent and very reasonably priced evening meal. Although the car park is by the road-side it was quiet overnight. I'm surprised more motorhomers haven't chosen to spend a night in this... More

We had 3 meals at this lovely, friendly pub/restaurant, including a really good Sunday carvery. Staff are very attentive and food is well presented and cooked. Wonderful views over hills from restaurant windows. Would advise booking at all times as this pub is deservedly busy!

I booked an overnight stay at the Three Wheat Heads as a birthday surprise for my partner and we were joined for dinner by friends of ours who live nearby. Our room (room 2) was nice. Clean and comfortable and just right for an overnight stay. The view from the bedroom window was spectacular as has been mentioned in other... More

We were very impressed with The Three Wheat Heads on our first visit so were looking forward to our second, for Sunday lunch. Unable to book a table in the restaurant, we reserved one in the bar. On arrival, there were plenty of free tables in the restaurant, which puzzled us, especially as they remained vacant throughout our stay, so... More

Beer garden with fantastic views over the beautiful countryside and also some slides for children. Lovely, friendly staff. Food really nice food. There is a restaurant there too which is obviously popular as the phone never stopped ringing with people booking tables.
