Great Accommodation - fab Food

We visited here with my mother (78). We had taken her to the National Trust house Cragside and wanted somewhere close to stay. I found this on Google and I'm so glad I did. When I rang to book the accommodation George was really friendly and helpful and booked us in the restaurant for dinner... read more

we visited on 18 th for a family meal. Unfortunately the restaurant was full so we ate in the bar which was absolutely fine. The menu is amazing with great choice and I believe the fish dishes are fantastic. Our children ate from the kids menu. They had burgers and homemade chunky fries. They were very impressed. My chicken curry... More

We were there last night with 2 of our friends I was a little apprehensive as I hadn't been to this pub for over 16 years! However I needn't have worried the substantial menu was varied with a good vegetarian selection helpful staff and value for money My only suggestion is that the lighting needs adjusting it was a little... Went here Easter Monday. Despite being obviously busy they managed to fit us in as a four. Great friendly service, food was of a decent quality and quantity. The real winner for this restaraunt tho is the stunning view. Would definitely eat here again.

Here are the reasons why this place is excellent: 1) Fantastic menu, great choice. If you like fish or are a vegetarian there is plenty to choose from. Lots of choice for meat eaters too! 2) The food was delicious, tasted very fresh. 3) Great value for money, the portions are very generous. 4) The view from the main restaurant... More

Visited Easter Sunday after a lovely walk, we hadn't booked in advance but got a table in the bar area which was ideal as we had our black labrador with us. We opted for the carvery which was exceptional with a wide range of meats, veg and choice of 3 gravies! Excellent price and service, can't wait to return. Thank... More

My friends and I are all on our own so we go out for Sunday lunch. Been to quite a few places but the 'Wheaties' beats them all. The 'small' carvery is huge and the Yorkies and roasties are spot on. Also they serve my favourite, mashed potatoes. There's a choice of three types of gravy and any sauce you... More
