Had a re vamp recently, much lighter now the curtains have been changed for blinds. Fantastic views, fantastic food and very friendly staff. A booking isn't always necessary and open all day every day Very reasonably priced too

We had Sunday Roast Dish in the evening. Although my wife had the pork she still had a Yorkshire Pudding and I had the beef along with sage and onion stuffing. The food was excellently cooked but there was too much to eat, even though we were hungry.

Visited twice in the last three days as our local B&B did not do evening meals. The first night we had a bar meal, this was very good and we then chose to come back two days later for a meal in the restaurant proper. The food was very good (except for some very lumpy rice) but it really did... More

Wifey and I ate at this marvellous restaurant on two nights in September when we spent five nights staying at a hotel in Rothbury. Wish we had found it on night number one! Would have been here every night. All of the dishes we had were excellent for flavour, presentation and portion size. Between us we tried chicken, lamb, sirloin... More

Really tasty food. Staff polite and helpful. Lovely view over the valley. Worth booking ahead - ask for a window table.

I was staying at a cottage in the area and was recommended to try this pub/ restaurant. When I popped in during the day to have a quick look at the menu I was told it was the day of one of the local country shows and the restaurant was fully booked and the only table available was ' in... More

Excellent place to eat - really top class. We were really impressed here - went for evening meal during the week. I had stroganoff and my husband had gammon, egg and home cooked chips. Portions are big and hearty, so come when you're very hungry! It was great value, the staff were really friendly and very good at their jobs,... More

We walked in at 6:45 on a Tuesday and although half the restaurant was booked for later we were given a table. Service was very prompt and efficient both for drinks (Wagtail and Fog O the Tyne) and food. I had the Lamb Rack and my partner a whopping Sea Bream. Well recommended but on busier nights booking ahead probably... More

Nice enough food here but my wife and I were allocated a table near the main road and saw that a table had been vacated nearer the rear which has a magnificent view of the Simonside Hills. We hadn't been served at that point and asked the barman whether we could move. He replied that it might be reserved for... More
