We stayed here in mid June for two nights and I have to say it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I agree with other comments that our room did need a 'little' freshening up as it was slightly weary in places and the shower was hard to regulate but we managed and I certainly wouldn't say it spoilt my stay... Four of us ate dinner here recently and we were all pretty underwhelmed. The service was OK, perfunctory more or less I suppose, but the food was good. Prices were about in line for a somewhat upscale public house in the countryside. Booking is important for weekends.

the food and the wine was very good and prices quite reasonable. however we were disappointed with the service of some of the waitresses. shortly after we sat done (but before we had ordered our dinner selection) we asked for some bread. we were told that bread would only be provided AFTER we order our meal. When the server brought... More

Called in mid week for an evening meal, were very surprised how busy the restaurant was, the food was really good, steak cooked perfectly and very tasty, and a very nice risotto. Wines by the glass were very decent also. Will definitely return

Stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it lived up to all of the glowing reviews. The owner/chef greeted us on arrival and proved his credentials as a warm and friendly host. Having travelled quite a distance from down south we were thirsty and he insidted on me trying (substantial measures) all of his beers before choosing.... More

Comfortable dining room. Could have done without the Radio in the background - but that's just me preferring the peace and quiet of the location.

We called in for a bite of tea, I ordered the steak which at £21:50 wasn't cheap but I was not disappointed, its said you get what you pay for and I have to say its one of the best cooked and full flavoured steaks I have ever had. I haven't a clue how they cook the chips there, I'm... More

This is a real gem of a place. Lovely cosy restaurant with huge log stove. (a little too warm!) Food is stunning. Well cooked, interesting and tasty. Would definitely recommend this place.

We had a great experience at the Barassford Arms. It is a very cosy a welcoming place with a very good atmosphere in the bar and in the restaurant. The place was full the night we stayed and we got the last room available. It was rather small , but we only intended to sleep there and it was certainly... More

We have just returned from our over night stay at The Barrasford Arms. Lovely place with nice views. Cozy pub with real fire and real ales. The room was lovely as well but the best of all was the food. Top notch. I don't normally eat posh food as I normally still feel hungry afterwards but the portion sizes were... More
