That should say it all.... Ian is behind the bar and he employs good kids who he keeps an eye on and who work hard. Yes they are young and not perfect but they seem happy and friendly which is a huge plus. IF you have a problem with anything he jumps to make it right - rather then argue... More

To be honest, this is a pub we would have driven past if we had not booked following reading glowing reviews on Trip Advisor. The front of the pub looked very run down and neglected. On entering the waitress was very friendly and efficient and showed us to a table in the 'conservatory'. This was an area badly in need... More

As a family, we love this pub. Always fantastic ambiance and very busy. A wide-ranging, well- priced menu with an ever-changing range of great beers.

We were looking forward to dining here as it apparently has a good reputation and has some specialist Vietnamese dishes on the menu. There were five of us and we had a nice table with an open fire nearby to cheer us on a winter's evening. We all had starters which were ok, nothing brilliant, and then four of us... More

The little village of Bossingham hold one of the finest pubs in Kent, quite why they have not won awards I have no idea! We sampled the Christmas menu last night and blown away by the standard of the food. The quality was excellent, my Wife chose the slow roasted lamb which was cooked to perfection but hidden in the... This public house has excellent beers and ciders kept to perfection. I was introduced to this gem by a friend who took me there for a drink and to watch England play rugby. The viewing took place in the conservatory where there was a large pull down screen away from the diners. I returned with others for lunch. A varied... More

We love The Hop Pocket; it's a fantastic country pub, not far out of Canterbury. If you're visiting Canterbury and also want to visit a Kent village pub, then come here. Very friendly staff, excellent premises with a enormous garden with excellent play equipment for children. My favourite on the menu is chilli beef. The spicing of this dish is... More

Myself and my partner booked a table here as we were child free for the night and decided to go for a quiet meal. We arrived a bit earlier than planned but was still seated at our table. It turned out to be "greek night" which to start with we were a bit sceptical about as weve never really eaten... More

This is slightly out of the way but just adds to the charm of such a delightful find. Recommended by I friend, I had mussels to start, steak and chips and a very rich chocolate mousse for desert. All were delicious and the staff are so friendly and efficient. It has a great relaxed atmosphere and I am looking forward... More

A lovely, cosy but also lively restaurant with great food. And...Otter Ale! It is a pub so you get pubfood; but it is of excellent quality!
