I have been to this place three times now and each time I've been impressed with the quality of the food and the choices on the menu. The menu has plenty of choices with unusual twists which are delicious. A must have is the pork belly and no experience would be complete without sampling their chocolate moose which is pure... More

We have visited the Hop Pocket on a few occasions and every time we have been very pleased with the service. The pub is in a lovely setting with beautiful decor. There are lots of choices on the menu and they have different specials on each time we visit. It is often very busy but the staff are very attentive... More

With friends we try to visit new venues and often use Trip Advisor for well reviewed establishments but having visited the Hop Pocket I think we found the first example of the total opposite of the high ratings given (in my experience anyway) The visit started well with a friendly welcome and a good choice of drinks, the menu was... We went here on a Friday evening. The pub was absolutely packed but we were served quickly and efficiently and nothing was too much trouble. Great food, good value and a really nice ambiance. We have been here several times and the staff are always welcoming, so we always look forward to going back.

The Hop Pocket is a rare gem. A wonderfully cosy, friendly pub with a genuine welcome and staff who very much care about its customers. The food is varied, well priced, well cooked and there is plenty of it. If you happen to be lucky, you will have booked a table when the 'special' is a hand made pie, accompanied... More

a gastro pub housed in a building going back centuries, simply furnished, painted off white woodwork, heavy natural cotton curtains, wooden tables and very comfy seating. the service is casual and friendly, very young staff. the food mostly good with some exceptions, mainly the puddings, reminiscent of school canteen, lacking subtlety mains are to die for my seared tuna with... After reading the effusive reviews of this pub, I took my wife and daughters for Sunday lunch. It is a nice pub with very charming staff and a pleasant proprietor. I was, however, expecting a more exciting menu with some oriental options (based on the reviews) but it was a pretty ordinary choice of fare on offer, but at gastro... More

Been here about five times and every time has been great. The overall layout and decor of the pub is lovely and relaxed, and when its cold outside they have several wood fires which makes it lovely and cosy. They can always fit us in when busy and all the staff and the owners are very friendly. The food is... More

Went to the Hop Pocket for Vietnamese New Year. We go regularly, but took friends, just fabulous. Food is always good at a very fair price, beers are changed regularly so you can always try. New one.
