This pub is not in Stelling Minnis but Bossingham

I have now had two meals at my local pub in Bossingham and both very nice. The pub has been redecorated and is under new management and I think the food is now better than it was. The food is reasonably priced and delicious and I don't think anyone visiting would be disappointed. I can't speak... read more

My first visit to this hostelry - a real country pub/restaurant with an excellent selection of draught beers, and a good wine list. There is a fixed price menu for two or three courses - very reasonably priced, and an a la carte menu also reasonably priced. The food was excellent beautifully cooked and presented. The manager, John Alderson, is... More

Wonderful country pub, nice and cosy. But for me the food just lacked some attention to detail. The starter of potato skins filled with cheese and bacon was ok. My steak was a let down though ! I asked for it to be cooked 'medium' but it was very rare,I don't mind a little blood but this was a bit too... More

Afters years of great service & food from Ian & the crew, I'm pleased to say the new owners in their first week are doing a grand job. The place was full & buzzing , the food fantastic.

One of us is vegetarian, one of us is not so one loves a roast dinner and one hopes there will be something equally tasty that is non-meat. In short The Hop Pocket delivers. The roast was lamb today and was delicious. It was a no nonsense good plate of food - perfect for Sunday lunch. There were several vegetarian... More

Randomly saw the sign on the main road heading for Canterbury so as we staying in the area and the first pub we tried(The Chequers) didn't do food on a Monday night? So we thought we would check it out. Happily for us it turned out to be a good choice. The place is a standard looking village pub but... More

Been to lunch three times before and always good, but went for dinner last night. A warm welcome greeted us as always and another good choice of real ales(that changes regularly). A good choice on the menu, something for everyone, plus two lovely specials, spoilt for choice! Our food came out promptly and was absolutely delicious, we ate everything on... More
