Summer Sunday Evening Treat

Visited with some friends who know the area, what a lovely English countryside pub in a lovely English Country Village. Very peaceful, chilled. Bar staff were friendly and very helpful and accommodating. Hope to have the opportunity to return on another summer's evening.

Done up and with an improved car park, I regret to say I find it lacking in village pub atmosphere. It feels too much like one of those chain pubs - not quite Brewersfayre but you know what I mean. Staff are friendly but unmotivated. Food is quite good. Beer is Shepherd Neame so a bit dull.

Friends took us to the Woolpack for dinner in in June. I really like the fact that dogs are welcome in the pub side of the facility, as we missed our dogs. Waitstaff and the locals were very friendly. The food was delicious. We loved the steak and kidney pie. Delicious and filling.

Turned up on my daughter's birthday for an evening meal. We are not local but visit regulary when visiting Canterbury. They advertised a birthday club, where they issue a voucher for two meals for one. There were three of us plus evidence of birthday, filled in form and I asked if it was possible to use the voucher against this... More

Nice cosy pub has a log fire in winter.. Food is a bit posh, prefer more down to earth pub food. Dogs are made welcome.

Service was lovely, staff are all really nice but we were all just a bit ho hum about the food. Nothing wrong just a bit bland and lacking flare and ambition. Will fill you up then you'll forget about it.

Visited on a Saturday evening - Bar was busy but we were only the 2nd couple seated in the restaurant. Despite this our drinks order got lost, although the waitress did apologise for this when she realised. Biggest disappointment was the Beef Wellington - having read J&RTravels review of 5th May I was looking forward to this. Not cheap at... More

Arrived at 7pm on a Saturday evening without booking but luckily only had a 10 minute wait for a table (I would advise booking). The menu was good and the specials menu was superb. I had the trout which was excellent and my partner had the beef wellington which he loved. We shared a sticky toffee pudding which was good.... More

I have been popping in to the bar for years but have never eaten here until last night. The Woolpack has always had a very good reputation and last nights meal proved this still to be the case. We were shown to the restaurant which was empty and had the pick of the tables choosing to sit in the window.... More

On the outskirts of the famous Kent village the Woolpack is worth a visit. Although it's a Shepherds Neame pub it does offer a guest bitter. A nice friendly atmosphere with pleasant staff even if you just pop in for a coffee or stay for food and drinks. A good menue of well prepared food is available, try their fish... More
