Having read a couple of negative reviews here I was slightly dubious about giving it a go. I needn't have been. This is a delightful country pub with candlelit tables and a very cosy ambience. Very helpful and friendly staff. The burgers were exceptionally good as were the accompanying chips, coleslaw and mixed salad. If I could find complaint it... More

I used this pub a couple of months ago with a walking group and had an excellent set lunch. I then went back with another group. We were asked to order before the walk and they told us that the set menu was not yet available for the meal a couple of hours later so we had to order from... More

We visited this pub just over a year ago and we had a very enjoyable meal ( two adults with two teenage sons ) However, our recent visit was very disappointing. The service was good but the food was a real let-down. Portions were very small and what hadn't been microwaved was overcooked. The desserts our boys ordered were uninspiring... More

Our first time of visiting. Having read the recent reviews which seemed positive we were generally disappointed. While there was nothing specifically to complain about it was not the best experience. The starters were excellent, large in size and good quality. The mains were not as good. The Fish and Chips came with Mushy Peas that had obviously been left... More

Whenever we visit east Kent we always try to have lunch in this great little village pub. Food has always been first class, with a very good fixed price lunch. On this occasion we were disappointed to find that the fixed price lunch had been discontinued, but thought "that's life", the food is good, so happily ordered from the a... More

We walked here from Denton for a lunch time meal, we have been visiting this area for many years and never been here. On entering the pub it has a nice feel and we sat in a lovely corner table overlooking the village road and green. The food was really good lots of scampi which made a change to some... More
