My partner and I have been to the Black Robin today for our Christmas Dinner. Initially we were a little apprehensive after learning that the pub had changed ownership since we ate there previously- However we decided to stick with our booking. All we have now is nothing but praise for the new couple who now run the Black Robin.... More

Can't fault the service... Can't fault the food. All in all a very enjoyable and brilliant evening. Had the lamb shank and it was one of the best I've tasted. My partner had the steak and it was cooked just right, just how we asked. Would highly recommend. The new owners are extremely nice and this is one place that... More

The Black Robin just hosted our wedding reception and supplied all the food for the event. Myself and my new husband can not thank Becky and her whole team enough for all the effort they put into making the afternoon/evening so special. We had numerous comments from guest about the quality of the canapés and buffet that they had put... More

The Black Robin is one of our favorites. We have bin there about ten times. The amount of food and the quality is compared to many other British pubs relatively good. Especially the Steak Night is good for the money. The restaurant is nicely decorated clean and well organized. Please make sure to have some "Green Pepper Corns" in the... More

... and my husband and I LOVE your Green Peppercorn Sauce!!! But what a shock when we were served our steaks and our beloved sauce and found that altough still called "green peppercorn sauce" it had absolutely no green peppercorns in it anymore!!! Not a single tiny one!!! We would very much like our green peppercorn sauce including the obligatory... More

Met my parents here for dinner. Not only did they get the order wrong but told me that what I'd asked for was no longer available. Further requests e.g. water for the table were ignored and eventually when we had to go to the bar to collect some mustard which had been requested but hadn't arrived, we complained that the... More

Visited recently with friends, the pub is ok and the service and staff were very good however we used the pub garden and this was a bit of a let down the grass needed cutting the chairs and tables were very poor and many were broken. The food is ok but nothing special Would not recommend

Lunch with friends in this cosy village pub. Decor is a bit rustic but that is part of the charm. Food was OK but hand cut chips (which sounded great) ended up as greasy and sloppy offerings that looked and tasted like yesterday's fare. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a resident dog(s) that you will probably hear... More

We ordered Scampi and Chips in a basket and Bread and Butter plus Drinks The chips were the worst chips we have ever had they laid in the bottom of the basket completely sodden in fat some were squashed oozing fat absolutely disgusting, the butter came staight out the freezer so was solid so impossible to spread.
