The cafe specialises in homemade pies, the variety and quality is excellent. I had slow cooked beef, ale, mushroom and potato with mash, mushy peas and gravy and my wife had a superb vegetarian tart with mash and peas. Reasonably priced and the service was very good.

I had heard good things about this cafe (without reference to Tripadvisor). We had, as a family, an excellent light lunch there recently, so much so, that a few days later we stopped at the beginning of a 200 mile journey to load up with a selection of their pies. Just one adverse comment: I subsequently learnt that one of... More

Confession time: we bought pies from the cafe not once, but twice during our week long stay in the village! In our defence, however, we did undertake long walks and cycle rides during our stay, so the guilty pleasure that the cafe's pies represented were offset by our excursions, and (more importantly) THE PIES WERE UNBELIEVABLY TASTY!!!

I've written before about this unpretentious island of pies - the food is unashamedly good. But the last 2 times there has been something new for restaurants - a happy and efficient waiting staff. Genuinely interested in serving you as well as they are able. We were not referred to as "you guys" (that's my favourite hate as my wife... More

We were staying next door in a holiday cottage, and visited a couple of times. The cafe doesn't open on Monday or Tuesday, which is when they do all their cooking. The pies are very varied and delicious, and worth searching out if you are in the area.

Our first meal here was a Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Very generous portions, in fact possibly too much. We then had a lunch, slightly less large but delicious local produce and house baked pies. Finally we had a full English breakfast. All meals were delicious, well cooked and served in a nice atmosphere by friendly staff. We ended... More

Real home made comfort food. We go there for the food which I love. There is a great range for vegetarians. We had stopped going because they had the most miserable waitress for a while but this has now changed. The pies win awards and that speaks for itself. From a family of fab cooks and food lovers I would... More

We had lunch here after reading on TA that it was the best Sunday lunch in Norfolk. Wrong, it is possibly one of the worst. The roast beef comes one way - well done - no choice. Veggies were fresh but a bit messy with a pile of gray cabbage poured over the top. Yorkshires and gravy good. Now the... More
