Cream teas are warm and fresh

It had been a few years since I had been to the New Forest but I knew that I wanted to visit The Old Farmhouse tea rooms again! Generous portions and lovely fresh warm scones with a choice of jams and a large pot of tea (that was refreshed throughout). We sat in the dining area with the inglenook... read more

Daughter remembered going to village with her Grandparents when she young, there were Ponies in the road & witches shops. After a quick Google I found where she'd been, So on a lovely Friday morning we headed to Burley.. Feeling peckish she took me to the Old Farmhouse for lunch, {Much as I would have liked to try a cream... More

As a child, many years ago, I was often taken here to have a cream tea as a special treat. We had a cream tea which included 2 scones, cream, 2 jars of jam and tea or coffee. The food was delicious but the extremely quaint building had no atmosphere in the tearoom itself. Dreary in the extreme. Efficient staff.

We live nearby and just decided to have a cream tea as it was a nice day. Obviously being Easter weekend, and the sun shining, it was reasonably busy. The food itself was good but service very slow and several parties left as they couldn't wait any longer for their orders. One lady asked the staff about the delay and... More

I came here with my mum and we both had a cream tea for one. It was served as 2 scones fruit or plain with a blackcurrant and a strawberry jam and a large serving of clotted cream and a choice of tea and coffee. I am used to scones being quite small, but here they were huge. We had... More

We visited this restaurant at lunchtime. the menu was varied and reasonably priced. We both chose a cream tea. When it arrived the scones were huge and lovely and fresh. There were 2 scones 2 pots of jam and a large pot of clotted cream each. The teapot was large and we were able to have several cups of tea... More

When you order a sandwich from a tea rooms in the heart of the new forest, surrounded by century old heritage and natural beauty. A long-life brown bread and mild cheddar butty is just a little 1974. The service was by young girls who while very pleasant lacked enthusiasm and confidence. It was cheap, and I know that should keep... More

We popped in here looking for a place to have tea and cake, and I was very pleased to see that they bake their own cakes, some of which are gluten/dairy/nut free. I had lemon drizzle cake and a pot of earl grey, and my boyfriend had tea and scones. We both really liked the food. The staff were friendly... More

We have visited Burley many times but this was our first time eating at the Old Farmhouse Restaurant. We were expecting a quaint cosy atmosphere but were a bit disappointed. The tables are spread throughout several rooms so you don't know whether the staff have forgotten about you and you can't get their attention unless they happen to come into... More
