Yummy food, friendly service and retty pub

We visited Burley for a weekend and ended up having dinner here twice. The service was great, and we loved the food. The pub was very welcoming and it was easy to relax there.

Since being taken over by Fullers and extensively altered, modernised etc. this charming pub has had 2 lady managers whom I always found to be very efficient and pleasant. On visiting last week it transpired that there is a new manager, male but pink shirted, obviously inexperienced and unable to cope. On asking for a table a pleasant waitress said... More

Beautiful inside and out. We're sitting on the terrace as I type. Friendly and efficient staff.Food very nice for both children and adults. Great children's menu, 2 courses and a drink £7.25. Home made burger and fish and chips for 3 and my daughter, who is very fussy, enjoyed sausages and mash with gravy n peas. Even the Ladies looked... More

Nice menu and beautiful gardens. Not keen on being so dog friendly. Shame we weren't comfortable walking from Burley although can be done.

Dear CandP83, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We try to keep the balance with being dog friendly with only having the gun room/bar area and pantry for dogs and their owners and also the garden. There is a back route to Burley along the track that runs adjacent to the pub, this keeps you away from... More

We have eaten here on a few occasions each time we visit the new forest. It makes a great stop of for lunch in the middle of a Ride/walk. Food has always been good, nothing spectacular but what you need, the garden is lovely and peaceful and perfect to relax

Excellent location, we cycled in whilst exploring the New Forest. Big pub with a lovely garden. A great pit stop for lunch.

Dear Georgia, Thank you for your review, it is lovely to be nestled in between all the walking routes and the cycle routes, only trouble being sometimes the cycle back is the painful thought after all the food! hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Annette More

Not a good Sunday Lunch experience. Roast beef (a lot of it) but no flavour and overcooked. Pork belly very soft. Very overpriced. Having already paid for desserts, waiting staff advised they could not get the dessert and we would have to advise the bar staff that we were ready (we were seated outside).

We meet here today for lunch and was very disappointed. The food was cold, and my husband's was lukewarm. The custard was nothing like custard, there was bits of lumps in it. I know they were busy but for price of the food its no excuse for the poor quality. I would think twice before I would go back, for... More

So, what was so good about the White Buck? Well, the garden is lovely with a good seating area, the service was fun and friendly, the food was excellent. (I can recommend the venison burger - cooked 'to a t'). The bar also has a good range and is a lovely environment. Being situated in a gorgeous part of the... More

I have been to this restaurant a few times over the years. Some previous experiences have been quite disappointing with long wait times and poor service. However, I recently returned to this restaurant after a change in management. The place has been completely renovated, keeping the old inn charm it used to have but modernising the restaurant area to look... More
