Perfect summer al fresco dining

Welcomed in the bar immediately. Offered the correct child's menu and adults. Very clear easy choice menu. Food came very quickly. Staff came a couple of times to check all ok. Plates cleared and pudding came quickly. Cappuccino made just how I like it - dry. Both had fish and chips which tasted... read more

Our first visit as holidaying in a house within walking distance. I can truly say that I had one of the best meals I have ever eaten (and have eaten regularly at some prestigious 'fine dining' establishments). I was with my daughter and son-in-law and two young grandsons - they all agreed that the food was superb - Well cooked... More

We revisited the White Buck to see if it was any better. The restaurant was quiet ( it was a Tuesday evening) at 8.05 pm. We were greeted immediately but given a very quizzical look when we said that we had not booked. I pointed out that the restaurant was less than half full and perhaps another table occupied would... We went with some friends for Sunday lunch, the staff were friendly and efficient, we all really enjoyed our lunch, the quality was really good and the portions more than adequate. We were disappointed and shocked when we received the bill that a pint of Amstell was £4.40 and a pint of cider was £5.05, these are ridiculous prices.

Family meal for three on a Saturday evening. Food, service and wine all really good as was the service. The place was busy so had a good atmosphere but staff still had time to check that we had what we needed and had enjoyed the food.

A relation booked us in for lunch. Although we live locally we hadn't heard of it before. It is in a part of Burley one doesn't normally go through. We needed the map to find it! Pleasant atmosphere, forest decor, good food. We could just walk out of the drive straight into the New Forest.

What a shame the food was so disappointing. Waited almost 40mins with no apologies for delay. We were a party of 5. 3 chose the venison burger, although nicely presented and hot they were tasteless and could have been any meat really. 1 chose the White Buck parcel thingy, Filo pastry is supposed to be light and crispy, this was... This is the only local I go to as it's the best!! The decor is laid back, rustic, rural and with a stags head to top it off. The food is scrumptious, if not a little pricey for a pub. The staff are very friendly and know their stuff, especially when I can't choose which ale to drink, they give... More

We stayed for three days at the end of June 2015 and really enjoyed it. Friendly and helpful staff and the room, although small, was cozy and had a large comfortable bed. I would have rated 5 stars except for the toilet door was a double swinging saloon type with FULLY GLAZED (frosted glass) panels and a half inch gap... More

Dear Chris_ward_55, Thank you for your review and for raising the comment about the bathroom door, I have asked my maintenance to look at it and we can hopefully look at closing the slight gap in the bathroom door. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you once again for brining this to my attention.... More
