Pub on the up!

Six elderly mountain bikers from the Dorset Rough Riders Club arrived at 1.30pm for lunch on this Wednesday to what was quite a full pub. We were made very welcome and managed to get a nice table for 6 near a front window and the bar. This is a weekly event for our crew of retired bikers and... read more

Visited for a family evening meal. Always a warm welcome from the landlady, who quite frankly has completely turned this pub around, so well done to you! Food very good and always a pleasure to visit. Good choice of beers, cider and wines and something for everyone on the menu. Everyone welcome even with wet dogs, muddy cyclist and walkers.... More

Great Little pub. Good beer always on tap, roaring fore in the winter and nice garden in the summer. Karen and her team are fantastic and make it a friendly happy place. The food is outstanding, chose something off the special menu if you can. Worth going out of your way to eat here if you are visit the forest

Myself and my family had a meal here, and the food was lovely we all enjoyed it. I had the belly pork and was priced at £10.95 which for what was on the plate was excellent value. Friendly staff and even commendeared to my mother's fussy meal request. Overall I would highly recommend to eat here.

Pleasant service when we popped in for lunch after a morning walk. But food was nothing special and a bit pricey.

Had a nice afternoon at this excellent local pub in Woodgreen, sheltering from the rain. Food was excellent and we discovered a very good cider too. Quite spacious and nice music being played.

Had lunch there today, very good and great value. Aside from usual full menu and snacks, they now do small bar food too (e.g. Cheesy chips, fried onion rings and more). Still one of the nicest traditional pub buildings. The landlady, Karen, is really helpfuland has good friendly staff.

We ate here for a Sunday lunchtime and were really impressed. It's a lovely light restaurant area inside looking out over the oub garden, and nicely decorated for Christmas. We all had the sunday roast (which had different meat options) and thought it was excellent quality and very tasty, with very generous servings. Amazed it was only £10 for a... More

Last night I held my 40th birthday party at the Horse & Groom. I cannot thank Karen and her excellent team enough for making my special birthday even more special. I wanted an Italian themed buffet, Matt and the team in the Kitchen listened to every detail I wanted and he more than delivered that! The food was excellent, every... More
