Pub on the up!

Six elderly mountain bikers from the Dorset Rough Riders Club arrived at 1.30pm for lunch on this Wednesday to what was quite a full pub. We were made very welcome and managed to get a nice table for 6 near a front window and the bar. This is a weekly event for our crew of retired bikers and... read more

Just returned from a wonderful Sunday Lunch. We both had the melt in the mouth "Beef Brisket " with all the trimmings and a delicious bottle of Malbec great value for money and certainly made a miserable wet Sunday so much the better. We will be back next weekend for the Hog Roast and music

My husband and I would just like to say a big Thank You to Karen and her team for making us feel very welcome during our week's holiday. The food was amazing. The locals made us feel at home.

I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to all at the Horse and Groom for a truly fantastic weekend. I booked the camping field just to the back of the pub for group of about ten of my friends and from start to finish we were treated with the most amazing hospitality anyone could hope for. It... A crowd of us had dinner at the Horse and Groom on Tuesday. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food, the service and the general atmosphere of the whole place. As soon as you walk through the door you are met with very friendly and welcoming staff. Wish it was nearer to us so we could enjoy a nice stroll on... More

Little village pub off the main road. Not too hard to find though. Went there a few years ago and that was ok too. Under new management now and layout and seating better than it was. Friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price. Very busy when we went and had to book. Slight wait for service and food... More

Visited for a family evening meal. Always a warm welcome from the landlady, who quite frankly has completely turned this pub around, so well done to you! Food very good and always a pleasure to visit. Good choice of beers, cider and wines and something for everyone on the menu. Everyone welcome even with wet dogs, muddy cyclist and walkers.... More

Great Little pub. Good beer always on tap, roaring fore in the winter and nice garden in the summer. Karen and her team are fantastic and make it a friendly happy place. The food is outstanding, chose something off the special menu if you can. Worth going out of your way to eat here if you are visit the forest
