A gamble sometimes worth taking

2nd review after many visits as a drinker, eater, with friends, family, couples etc... As others have said, this COULD do 3 to 4 x more business IF it just got in one or two more staff. Food is always tasty. Nice beers etc and while the staff are often changing, they are often friendly... read more

Chaotic and quite depressing. Service-Appaling. Staffed by an officious and unpleasant Eastern European lady who just didn't want to be there. She was in charge of 3 or 4 18 year old waiters who didn't want her to be there either by the looks of it. We were given menu's and a specials sheet only to be told that we... More

Its got the makings of a beast of a pub. Great location overlooking the river with decent car park etc. Food is ok to good and drink selection not too bad. It could do with the staff smiling a bit more and I think thats to do with there not being enough of them. So they are overworked and a... More

We arrived at the Bell Inn thinking that we would have a drink and decide if we wanted lunch. When ordering drinks, we set up a tab and the lady behind the bar asked us where we wanted to sit. We suggested a couple of places and she just kept saying, no, that they booked there. Eventually, we ascertained that... More

The Bell Inn in Hampton ticks many boxes: great atmosphere, day and evening; friendly, hardworking staff; reasonable selection of drinks; wonderful views of the Thames; Bushey park next door; and it's easily accessible. This is a pleasant pub to come to any time of the year. Cosy in the winter with warm fires and alcoves to snuggle into. Yet in... More

We visited this place for lunch and ordered the pulled pork in brioche with a side of humus and flat bread. We were told that there would be a 45 minute wait for the food. We were so hungry we didn't mind waiting and just wanted to rest and eat. We ordered drinks at the bar and when the food... More

We decided to have the lunch and party following our registry wedding in Kingston at the Bell Inn. The bright and airy upstairs room with it's balcony overlooking the river and separate bar was ideal for our 18 guests. We were able to put up our own decorations and the space looked magical. The Bell Inn's managers, Anca and Stefan... More

Popped in for a meal on Tuesday evening. My husband ordered Fish and Chips which was not fresh. Fish was a slightly grey colour. I ordered the Ham Hock which they got wrong! Why? Expensive for what it was. Shan't be going back.

Love this pub - it is my local so I may be a bit bias - great food, good selection of beers and a great pub garden. If you're coming to Hampton this is the pub to go to. You are looked after by the staff

We decided to chance it and try to get a table on Sunday at lunch time. Every table was booked. We waited at the bar for 15minutes enjoying our drinks and finally managed to get the table. We have ordered chicken and beef roast it was one of the best roasts I have ever had. Everything was yummy! It was... More
