Lunch with the Girls

Lovely location by the river and Grand Union Canal. Booked a table for five friends on a Sunday lunchtime. We had three roast beef dinners and two fish and chips, all very large portions and really tasty. Waitress was attentive and was on hand whenever we wanted to order drinks. Lovely atmosphere... read more

I have visited for lunch on two consecutive weeks and was delighted to note the improvements made on the environment, food quality and availability and general experience. The lunch menu is a definite attraction as it is good quality and excellent value for money. Having had cause to complain before I had stayed away for some time. However I am... More

Good location right by canal with plenty of parking. We went about 1pm midweek. 20 minutes for drinks to arrive and waited 45 minutes for food to arrive. I ordered baguette but got a sandwich. As i had waited so long for food i told them not to bother changing it. I felt sorry for waitress she was rushed off... More

Great decor, very quaint & rustic decor ( wooden beams etc.) The food was exquisite, both my girlfriend & I had 'newer' dishes, the Duo of chicken & the marinated cod respectively & they were both fantastic. - My cod was so delicious & just melted in my mouth. Oh & the indulgent chocolate cake was pretty darn good too.... More

By some standards, this nice looking pub has got a good and balanced menu, from pub food, to burgers to more sofisticated dishes, but unfortunately in my opinion the quality of the cooking overall does not make justice to the menu. Service is patchy as well. OK to eat or drink but do not expect miracles

We've been going to the Swan & Bottle for years and years and seen it through lots of changes of management - good and bad. Our last two visits, though, will keep us away for some time. The first of these visits was about a year ago and although they have a large and varied menu, many items are not... More

We go here regularly with my wife and teenage kids. Always nice and warm with a nice atmosphere, best chain pub we have been to, tables not to close to each other, nice people always the same which is unusual nowadays, also talk to you like a human being not from a how to be a server book of scripts... Nice place but the food was pretty poor. The waygu beef burger with truffle mayo was tough and overcooked. The mayo was chive flavoured rather than truffle. Really not worth the money. I'd definitely go back for a beer but eat somewhere else first.
