We went for dinner tonight after a few years of having been and Lorraine et al have done a wonderful job of making the pub a place to go for good food, great service and non-pretentious atmosphere. Well worth it, again. Keep up the great work guys.

Managed to squeeze in here by eating early on a Saturday night, due to the amazing food it's always busy! We were last minute celebrating son's 21st, and it was a meal to remember. The staff, surroundings and food in general is absolutely top class, but the assiette of rhubarb and stem ginger puddings to share was out of this... More

Wow, what an excellent choice and lovely venue, I have eaten here before so decided this would be my romantic choice for valentines. The food was delicious, varied menu and locally sourced, bustling with diners, great ambiance. Exceptional service, smiling happy people, 5 star *****

A Valentine’s ‘treat’? Arriving at the bar we were moved out of the way twice by waitresses, and that set the tone. One staff member ignored us as we weren’t part of a big party arriving. Our table was so close to the kitchen door my partner’s chair was banged by busy waitresses. We waited half an hour to have... More

After visiting this restaurant with my family for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday the only word I can use to sum up our experience was disappointed! We had a pre dinner drink whilst waiting for the menu, once given the menu we were told that there were various choices that they no longer had, we perused the menu for... More

Went with my wife for the first time. Ambiance and service excellent but disappointed with the food. Not quite sure it knows where it wants to be - wholesome rustic v fine dining. If it is going for the latter it fails. We both found the food lacked flavour. Will keep trying because the dining experience is so good.

The Brownlow Arms was an absolute delight. We booked for a Saturday evening and took the option of staying in one of the restaurant's four rooms. The bedroom (room 1) was opulent. It was well furnished and really fitted the timeless character of the restaurant. Our meal was superb. The dining room had a great atmosphere with a relaxed hub-bub... More

Wanting a traditional Sunday lunch, but to a high standard we opted for The Brownlow Arms as it had been recommended by friends. On arrival we had drinks( good selection of wine by the glass)and managed to sit in front of the log fire which was very relaxing. Menus were brought and our efficient waitress arrived to take our orders.... More

I took my wife for a birthday meal early on a cold November Saturday evening. Despite arriving at 6.30, the start of restaurant service, there was a roaring log fire in the bar to warm us while we supped a glass of excellent Australian Shiraz and made our menu choices. The ambience was good, the service was friendly and exceptionally... More
