Where to start? On our arrival probably. Our room in an outer building was lovely, The Old Bakery, spacious, well furnished and quiet. The King's Arms is a cracking country pub with leather armchairs, enormous open fire in the middle of the main room. Lovely ambience. The undoubted star though is... read more

We visited this pub after hearing really good things. It was okay. We were the first people in there that night. The lady behind the bar was lovely and friendly but something was missing, it was quiet,no atmosphere and no soft music so it was just us talking. Our waitress was quite friendly and we were served quite quickly. I... More

Four of us lunched here again recently, and once again the meals were faultless. The ladies have learned now that when we are offered the 'smaller' meal it is still very substantial with plenty of their chosen meat and a lovely selection of vegetables. Service is friendly, speedy and helpful. We are part of The Sunday Lunch Bunch and as... More

Had a lovely lunch in this pub. Fish pie really good and my daughters steak was just fantastic. Cooked to perfection and had a wonderful flavour and texture. They were good with small children and the kids menu included starters for children which is quite unusual and they had a risotto on the menu as well as the usual burgers... More

Had a very good lunch next to an enormous log fire, we had a mixed platter of meats that was for one but we had it to share. They have there own smoke house and chicken, which makes the meal very special.

The pub has a traditional air with beams and a welcoming open fire. On a Monday night there is only the bar menu and a specials board. There was however a good choice of dishes including fish, meat and vegetarian. Service was helpful and efficient. Prices were reasonable and meals and drinks were good value for money. Food was served... More

We stayed between Christmas and New year, on a cold winter night. A warm welcome, a great cosy pub with first rate food and a brilliant breakfast.

A lovely little gastro pub set in the little village of Wing, near to Rutland water. We've been here twice now and both times the food was delicious and great value for money. The staff are friendly and provide good service. We are particularly impressed with the effort that has gone into sourcing local produce. Also special mention goes to... More

We were roaming around Rutland last week and visited this venue for lunch. The building looks rather odd at first glance as it runs back from the road rather than parallel to it. We parked in the car park at the rear and were impessed to see fruit cages along one and a range of rather elegant chickens on the... More

We came on a visit to Barnsdale Gardens and once again had lunch at the Kings Arms - we hadn't booked but they found us a table! The staff are so friendly and helpful here. This is a lovely, comfortable pub with a great relaxing atmosphere. There is a good choice of beers - I enjoyed a pint of 'Cooking'... More
