Still fantastic and that keeps us coming back

Third visit in as many months it's hard to beat this place. The specials change regularly and this time it was asparagus my favourite. So much choice and brilliant service. Five star food as well I had mushrooms in Stilton sauce, main was asparagus risotto, and crime brûlée all fabulous. He had... read more

We came here for lunch after deviating to Rutland Water from our long journey south. We had been told that this pub had excellent food and we certainly were not disappointed. My fish pie was very tasty and they turned the sandwich on the menu into a local bacon and cheese salad for my wife . The bread rolls provided... More

For some reason, having lived in the area for 30 years, I had never got around to visiting The Kings Arms. It took a newbie to the area to tell me about it. Took my g/f there on her visit from the States with some friends for lunch. Wow ... what wonderful food. Now, I'll tell you that they offer... More

We had a small celebration family lunch there - the pub coming highly recommended. We were not disappointed. There is an exciting and enticing menu, proudly locally sourced. All was excellent, the service very good and the ambience all you would expect from the quintessential English country pub. We will certainly be back!

Came recommend from a customer having been many years ago. Yes it's good, the duck leg and breast was tasty, enough vegetables and potatoes. Good atmosphere and real ale. Several interesting rooms. Specialising in home made food. Worth a return. Menu could maybe be a touch more imaginative.

The menu is different but outstanding, it took me a while (whilst drinking a gorgeous wine from the large wine list) to decide on the dish I wanted, when it arrived I wasn't disappointed! The most fabulous food (it's not everyday you eat squirrel and love it!) in an amazing chilled atmosphere with lovely chatty staff! I will most defiantly... More

We met up with friends and stayed overnight in pleasant accommodation beside the main pub part. Great selection of real ales, the ones we tried were well kept. Wide selection of food that included game. My only concern was that the food was heavy on the garlic when it didn't really need it! Breakfast was delightful and Cathy who looked... More

Pre-booked Sunday lunch to celebrate my daughter's 17th birthday. Lovely round table for 5 people ready for when we arrived. Excellent choice for starters and mains. All had starters, quite a long wait but worth it and then all had roast dinner normal portion at £11 (can upgrade to have more meat and extra potatoes for £13.50 but really not... More

We visited this pub after hearing really good things. It was okay. We were the first people in there that night. The lady behind the bar was lovely and friendly but something was missing, it was quiet,no atmosphere and no soft music so it was just us talking. Our waitress was quite friendly and we were served quite quickly. I... More
