Simply one of the very best pub restaurants with accommodation my wife and I have visited in 40 years of travelling widely, in brilliant cycling and walking country near Rutland Water. Locally sourced food is perfectly cooked, the breakfasts were superb, and the prices reasonable. There are local real ales on tap from several local breweries including the Grainstore brewery... The Kings Arms shows it's possible to serve really good food, and have very presentable, comfortable rooms too. Dinner last weekend for 18 people was great- all served together, and everyone seemed delighted; only one person felt their steak was overcooked - and I'm sure the restaurant would have fixed that if asked. My venison was beautiful. They clearly take... More

When we ate here last week, the meals were being served in the rather dark and uninviting bar area. Our table was situated close to the toilets, which is a bit off-putting. The menu was reasonable with the usual standard pub fare and the service was good. My meal of ham, eggs & chips was served with a heap of... More

A picturesque reminder of the past, the Kings Arms sports comfortable rooms and outstanding, high-quality pub food served in a warm, friendly atmosphere. In addition to rooms in the main building, the inn also has several quaint rooms in what at one time were the stables. Easy access to the Rutland Water Nature Preserve provides the traveler with a number... More

I make no secret of the fact that I love this place. Today six of us went for Sunday Lunch, and the most striking thing on this visit was the wide choice of dishes on offer beyond Sunday roasts.... ...the trout pate is to die for, their Colston Basset Stilton in Port & Cognac is something I just had to... I took a group of 10 friends here for lunch. As time was short they sent me the menue in advance and our (very nice)meal was ready and waiting for us shortly after we arrived. All local produce and eggs from the pretty hens in the garden. Brilliant.

On the main street of this small, picturesque Rutland village, the King's Arms is a tastefully modernized pub with a number of dining areas that retain the traditional ambiance of a old-fashioned pub, whilst producing food of high quality. The staff are clearly well trained and professional, but retain their sense of humour and make the dining experience a very... More

Third visit in as many months it's hard to beat this place. The specials change regularly and this time it was asparagus my favourite. So much choice and brilliant service. Five star food as well I had mushrooms in Stilton sauce, main was asparagus risotto, and crime brûlée all fabulous. He had black pudding fritters , steak, and sticky toffee... More

We came here for lunch after deviating to Rutland Water from our long journey south. We had been told that this pub had excellent food and we certainly were not disappointed. My fish pie was very tasty and they turned the sandwich on the menu into a local bacon and cheese salad for my wife . The bread rolls provided... More
