Went to Maxi's due to it's reputation, the place was full, no available space, took about 30 min to get a table, 30 min to get our order write down and 45 min to get the food... Food its way overpriced if you compare price vs what you get!! I had better Rice&Beans in San Jose than that in Limon... More

The only party place in Manzanillo. Maringue, Calipso, and other music and cerveza, mixed drinks. The restaurant is great. I had blackened pink snapper and it was wonderful. A little loud for my tastes but it is what it is.

A party of 4 female baby boomers we were. Maxi's was recommended to us by a front desk hotel person in Puereto Veijo. The food was great, especially the red snapper and the brown stew chicken the next day, very much mouth watering. Oh the taste! just yummy indeed. We felt at home just listening to reggae music in the... More

Maxi`s was recommended to us for the food & view and both surpassed our expectations!! Unfortunately the service made us think twice and we did not return! We were with our 2 young daughters ages 4 & 6. My wife & I ordered the most expensive dish a seafood grilled platter for two! Our daughters food came, portions were huge... More

The upstairs of Maxi's is a "real restaurant" as compared to the more common "sodas" in town. It catches a bit of a breeze so it's comfortable. The food here is really yummy and so are the drinks. Have something with the traditional caribbean sauce- lots of coconut milk-- so delicious. Even the rice and beans here taste good and... More

We went to Maxi's as it was recommended by a local. The food was expensive - I know we were in a tourist area, but entrees were an average of $15.00 each. The view is great - right on the beach, but overall, we weren't impressed with the quality of the food. Service was good, but we didn't feel that... More

Great food, amazing environment! The prices are a little on the high side, but the taste is sure worth it!

Beautiful view from the second floor a great spot for drinks. Food was alright but a little on the high side. My finance had the snapper which was okay, I had local lobster which was also okay. The mixed civeche was delicious though.

Before going to Costa Rica I read a review that said if you are in Manzanillo that we should try the Red Snapper at Maxi's. Let me say they were right. We had it prepared "The Jamaican Way". (it wasn't spicy). It was so good that we went back a second time for the red snapper. The restaurant is a... More

It’s overpriced and greasy. Ordered the snapper, which was not anywhere near as good as the Calm and Cool Café, it was just ok. Also had the vegetarian plate, which evidently means onions and a few red peppers, which I thought was a bit strange and unsatisfying. It's not terrible, just seriously average.
