Beautiful view from the second floor a great spot for drinks. Food was alright but a little on the high side. My finance had the snapper which was okay, I had local lobster which was also okay. The mixed civeche was delicious though.

Before going to Costa Rica I read a review that said if you are in Manzanillo that we should try the Red Snapper at Maxi's. Let me say they were right. We had it prepared "The Jamaican Way". (it wasn't spicy). It was so good that we went back a second time for the red snapper. The restaurant is a... More

It’s overpriced and greasy. Ordered the snapper, which was not anywhere near as good as the Calm and Cool Café, it was just ok. Also had the vegetarian plate, which evidently means onions and a few red peppers, which I thought was a bit strange and unsatisfying. It's not terrible, just seriously average.

We expected to be rather underwhelmed by the food because of other ratings on Tripadvisor, but were pleasantly surprised. We visited nearly every day for a beer and to watch the world go by. No better place to get the "flavour" of Manzanillo and not a bad place to eat either!

Upstairs restaurant overlooks the beach and sea. Good choice of food and service was efficient. Also has a separate ground floor café.

Had such a great meal at this place last week. I had the vegetable grill which was delish - grilled eggplant, zucchini, potatoes, and carrots with rice and a salad. It was really flavourful and super yummy. It was a really nice meal and I would recommend this restaurant to people. It was expensive compared to other restaurants in Manzanillo,... More

Excellent dishes, great red snapper with caribean rice and beans! The bad part is that they take time to serve you, so go no so hungry.

This is exactly what it sounds like. A cheap beach roadside no-frills seafood restaurant. I still dream about the fried red snapper and the vinegar sauce that went with it. It was cheap and yummy. Service was HORRIBLE but that didn't matter because the food was good.

We rode our bikes down from Puerto Viejo, so were pretty hungry when we got there. Maxi's is front and center so you can't miss it. It has this weird mix of Bob Marley/Barca football (soccer) fan bar--wasn't quite sure what they're going for. We got the grilled red snapper and it was really good. Everything else seemed super overpriced.... More

The food was okay. As in mediocre. But the atmosphere was weird. Our waitress was super nice and the little girls playing in the restaurant adorable. But there were people wandering around here and there, a couple of men, who just seemed messed up. Like they had had a super hard life and were down on their luck. One man... More
