Ok so, first of all, a quick history lesson: The olmecs, around 1500 BC-400BC are considered the "inventors of chocolate." It was traditionally consumed as drink with spices and chillies. Later both the mayans and aztecs took in this tradition and thus cocoa became an integral part of meixcan pre-spanish cultures. Having said that, this restaurant circles around two main... More

We followed the recommendations above and ordered the chocolate cake and a chaya and pineapple sorbet. The cake was very simple, old fashioned and way too sweet. The sorbet was nice, nothing more than that. The atmosphere was very relaxed. We expected much more from the reviews we read.

As the name of the restaurant tells you, this place is all about chocolate. From drinks to desserts, everything served in this place is related to chocolate. It's important to you to know that the chocolate presentation is truly Mexican, therefore, there can't be comparison to Belgium or Swiss chocolate, this a a completely different experience. You should definitely try... More

We went to Chocol Ha because we like chocolate and it was so highly rated on Trip Advisor but it was a little bit disappointing. Firstly, I must say we come from Belgium therefore, we are a little bit spoiled because we have excellent chocolate and pastries and maybe that's why we were not wild about this place. The shop... We stumbled into this cafe exhausted and hungry after having spent more than an hour trying to find our hotel, and it completely changed our bad moods into good ones. The crepes are great, sandwiches are good, but the Mayan hot chocolate and chocolate frappes were amazing. My daughter still talks about this restaurant. It is also a pretty little... More

This place has a great vibe while serving comfortable food and great chocolate dishes. Try the campechanas, tamal campechano and anything with chocolate.

Stumbling into Chocol Ha by accident was the highlight of my one-day trip through Campeche, and actually, was the best chocolate that I've ever had. The restaurant is reasonably priced and yet exudes Mayan chic, with a back terrace filled with old Singer sewing tables juxtaposed with jungle plants and ochre walls, making it scenic. The service was immaculate. And... More

Loved the small table and chairs set up in the grass-covered patio out back. We sat and read our kindles while sipping on delicious hot chocolate and munching on crepes. When on vacation, life is to be taken slow with a pinch of Chocolate. This place does exactly that.
