Great Lunch

They served botanas before my main course. Botanas are tapas. This one was dense corn meal with ham inside and a mild tomato sauce on top and shredded cabbage with mildly hot peppers marinated in lime and salt (both were salty but tasty). I ate all of what was served even though salt effects my... read more

We had high hopes for this restaurant and the appetizer was OK, if not fantastic, But things fell apart with the second course of coconut shrimp, a Campeche classic. Maybe I wouldn't like this dish wherever I had it but it was dismal here -- heavy breading that did not adhere to the shrimp, dry overcooked shellfish. Although mid evening... More

Excellent food, traditional decor. Old-style waiter, very competent. And located in the main square.

I ordered the chicken cordon bleu, (I had been in Mexico for almost 2 weeks, I wanted something different). The waiter was excellent and offered insight into dishes we had questions about. The place is air conditioned and had a nice atmosphere. The menu was extensive and the food was perfectly prepared and plated like a gourmet restaurant. Best part... More

It was great service, good food, and reasonable prices. This is a basic restaurant with good traditional food. The portion were filling and food tasted pretty good. We got there early to beat the evening rush. I think this made a difference with the service in particular. The restaurant is located next to the town square and was a great... More

This restaurant is the pits. We made the unfortunate decision of choosing this restaurant for Christmas eve dinner. We arrived at 8:50 pm for our 9 pm reservation. The first food we saw was at 10 pm and it was ritz crackers and cheese. We ordered a beer and a rum and tonic and despite trying to reorder we could... More

We decided to end up our visit to Campeche by visiting a traditional restaurant and it was really good. Authentic meal options from this part of Mexico and delicious coffee. We had a big breakfast before hitting the road again.

We ate there one night, and had one issue with the service : we ordered beer, appetizers, and entrees, and after more than one hour of waiting, we still had not our appetizers !! For usn this is totally unacceptable. There were 2 big tables in the restaurant, and they were served during all that time, but for us, nothing.... More

My husband had the "filet mignon" and while it didn't seem like the filet mignon we're used to at home, it was delicious! I had the cochonita pibil, (a tradicional Yucatecan dish), and it was okay. Not the best I've had, but fine. The restaurant is located in a historical building right on the main square with lovely views at... More
