This is a great placeto try seafood as well as local cuisine. The service is perfect and the dishes are big an really tasty. First try the "horchata de coco" water, a little bit sweet but delicious. Then start with any ceviche, fresh and really good. Then try one of the local specialties: cochinita pibil (pork), pan de cazón (fish... More

We asked a local where to have pulpo (octopus) and were recommend this place. It´s in the Lonely Planet as well. And it was indeed very good and friendly service. Bread, tacos and salsa comes free as a starter.

Marganzo is quite a large restaurant on Calle 8, between calles 57 and 59 in the Historical Center of Campeche. All the waitresses (there are not waiters!) wear traditional huipiles, giving the restaurant a very local touch. The menu features local Campeche specialties. I ordered the shrimp-stuffed fish filet and it was delicious, though the helping so generous I had... More

Ate hear based on recommendation from various sources. Spicy shrimp soup was good but shrimp were overcooked. I had the steak and my friend had the fish special stuffed with shrimp and bacon. Steak was bland and fish was average with the shrimp overcooked. Overall I'd say it was very overpriced. Service was good and restaurant was clean.

Food well presented and a large menu. Would adapt dishes to your taste. Two recommendations are the Sopa de Lima and the Beetroot salad for starters. Cerveche very good. Wines good and reasonably priced. Arrive before 1930 to beat the rush.

Marganzo it's a really nice and beautiful restaurant in the city center with a beautiful view to the church und the little parc. Price range is from 120-200$ Pesos (for a mexican restaurant a bit expensive). The food is really good BUT I'm vegetarian and asked for just rice and veggies (that was on the menu but with meat). They... More

This restaurant is very impressive, probably the fanciest in campeche. I liked the food pretty well, but only the coconut shrimp (camarones al coco) really blew me away. Its kind of expensive, but its worth it.

This is a high quality restaurant that was completely filled by tourists, not a single local. Not to say that affected the food, but just saying if you want a Mexican experience, there are other restaurants that may not have the fancy food like Marganzo but you won't feel like you are in an expat attraction. Aside from the tourist... More
