Went to Karibuni for an excellent lunch of trunk fish. This is a local catch....unavailable in the US, roasted on the open fire and stuffed with mahi-mahi and spices. Caribbean lobster equally as good. This is expensive....but hey....spend your kids inheritance ("ski club"). Karibuni recovered quite quickly after the hurricane last November. Now....the boats going to the island are another... More

You have to take a water taxi over to pinel island. It cost about $13/person for a round trip. Once there head for Karibuni. 2 chairs and an umbrella for $25 all day. Make a reservation at the restaurant for lunch and try the lobster. You can pick your own and they grill it fresh. Credit cards accepted.

I want to start out by saying that the location is beautiful and the food is delicious, but be ready to pay 7 euros for the ferry over and 25 euros for 2 chairs along with at least 50 euros for two for lunch. But we knew that coming in so that is not my problem with the Karibuni. Let... More

We have been to St Martin almost ten times, but this is the first time to go over to Pinel Island. The manager at the Palm Court Hotel in Orient Bay told us to catch an early ferry (9:30 or 10) and upon arriving at the island head left past the Yellow Beach to Karibuni. That was great advice. We... More

Fab location and good menu choices but service was appalling on day of our visit.. Knowing the place gets busy, We reserved a table for 12.30. Lots of mad frenetic activity with waiting staff darting all over the place.. Waitress took our order; We asked for rum punches, we got rum shots, we asked for wine, we had to ask... More

We had one of the worst experiences ever on Pinel Island. This restaurant was dirty with birds flying around your head and chickens pecking around your feet. We cancelled our order of ribs right away but they brought it out anyways. The food was disgusting and cold. We had also had fish dish with two nasty full pieces of fish... More

See my picture for the view we had from our beach chair. Nice calm beach, does get a little crowded come midday, but the layout is well designed so you don't feel cramped. We had the burger and ribs off the grill. Excellent stuff, a nice change from the ones we normally have back home with a lot of sauce.... More

When we decided to take the boat over to Pinel Island we braced ourselves for burgers and soggy fries. What w wonderful surprise this restaurant was. We sat on the shaded deck and enjoyed one of the most delectable meals ever in the Caribbean . The food was French with Cajun flavors. I ordered the lobster, and then joined my... More

After 10 days of repairing the restaurant it looks great! Food as always terrific. Pinel for the day is one of the best ways to spend vacation. Sit at this end of the beach for wonderful beach side service and a beautiful vistas. Lobster lovers are in for a treat but lots of other good choices.

So now I know why people take their boats here. Karibuni has the best lobster I've ever eaten. After picking it from traps in the water nearby I watched as it was gracefully grilled. Make sure to get there early to reserve chairs and an umbrella. Highly recommend.
