Excellent beach food, but be sure to reserve your table!

My husband and I kayaked to Pinel from St Martin and decided to make a day of it. We rented chairs and went over to Karibuni to have lunch. To our dismay, we found that most of the tables had already been reserved much earlier (not sure when), so if you're planning to eat here, especially on a... read more

This is SUCH a great place to sit back and relax with some cocktails and food and take in the beauty of St. Maarten! Iguanas crawl around the deck and the water is like bath water. Its perfect here!

On Isle Pinel, people who have visited ST Martin before all know to seek out Pinel sometime during their trip, to go to this restaurant. And yachts and sailboats anchor there just so their guests can have a sumptuous mid day repast. We splurged once and got the whole local lobster (amazing), got a sea food salad the next time,... I love lobster and can't resist an opportunity to get it fresh. Le Karibuni keeps their lobsters in a cage off the dock right up until you order it. Sounds great! Unfortunately great lobster also requires human intervention to cook and serve. Le Kaiibuni failed miserably on both fronts. We waited an hour for our lunch and it was horribly... More

My husband and I were very disappointed with our experience here. While we weren't expecting a gourmet experience we also weren't expecting to pay $185 euros for a mediocre lunch for two then get chased down the beach for not paying for beach chairs. The service at the restaurant was great but the beach staff was absent except when it... More

Pinel Island is absolutely breath taking and the Karibuni restaurant is a fantastic place to enjoy lunch when taking a break from the beach. My family and I enjoyed the frozen margaritas and mouth watering food. We had the Italian salad, spare ribs, mahi mahi and steak. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Although, I love Pinel Island... More

Went to Karibuni for an excellent lunch of trunk fish. This is a local catch....unavailable in the US, roasted on the open fire and stuffed with mahi-mahi and spices. Caribbean lobster equally as good. This is expensive....but hey....spend your kids inheritance ("ski club"). Karibuni recovered quite quickly after the hurricane last November. Now....the boats going to the island are another... More

You have to take a water taxi over to pinel island. It cost about $13/person for a round trip. Once there head for Karibuni. 2 chairs and an umbrella for $25 all day. Make a reservation at the restaurant for lunch and try the lobster. You can pick your own and they grill it fresh. Credit cards accepted.

I want to start out by saying that the location is beautiful and the food is delicious, but be ready to pay 7 euros for the ferry over and 25 euros for 2 chairs along with at least 50 euros for two for lunch. But we knew that coming in so that is not my problem with the Karibuni. Let... More

We have been to St Martin almost ten times, but this is the first time to go over to Pinel Island. The manager at the Palm Court Hotel in Orient Bay told us to catch an early ferry (9:30 or 10) and upon arriving at the island head left past the Yellow Beach to Karibuni. That was great advice. We... More
