My husband and were staying nearby in Anse Marcel. We had been told to go to Pinel Island which is a small island a 10 minute boat ride away. On the island we saw two restaurants back from the beach. We went to the second one Karibuni. We had a table undercover but with a view of the beach and... More

We had a great meal here. The menu is imaginative and the waitstaff is quite professional, aiming to please at every turn. Their French fries are so good we ordered 3 plates of extras for the table. Wine list is quite good. Rest room is a pretty good hike and cannot be walked barefoot without discomfort.

Our service and food was superb on day one. The cevechi was the best anywhere and the burgers (mahi mahi and cheeseburger) weren't too shabby either. Day 2, the server must have been a trainee and not too organized, but the food was still over the top.

If you're on Pinel Island, walk past the other places and dine at Karibuni. Settle in for a leisurely lunch. We saw a lot of lobster go by, but were attracted by the local fish and didn't regret our choice. A bottle of Cote de Provence helped round it all out and make for a leisurely good meal.

After reading and hearing about Pinel, we spent a day there. It was nice, but I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. If you want a 'pool' for the kids to swim in while you relax in a lounge chair and/or eat a 2hr lunch, then this is the place for you (and prepare to spend $100 per... More

It is expensive to get to Pinel but the trip is worthwhile for Karibuni. The ouassus (fresh water shrimp) and the lobster, personally chosen, are grilled perfectly and tasty. absolutely fresh. No lunch here is complete without the chocolate cake for dessert, served at your lounge chair on the beach. And the espresso is perfect.

Pinel Island is the perfect place to enjoy the Caribbean sun away from the traffic and bustle of St Martin. Karibuni Restaurant serves lunch either on its thatch roofed deck or right at your beach chair. The lobsters looked great, but I chose a large plate of appetizers which included a very unusual preparation of calamari. The planter's punch was... More

It doesn't get better than picking out your fresh catch straight from the trap! And, the creole rice was fantastic. Right on the beach. Ferry over and check it out. Check to see if cruise ships are in port before you go. We went on a Monday, when none were, so it was quiet. No need to reserve those lobsters... More

One day in the beginning of December we took a ferry ($10 or 10 Euro p/p round trip) to Pinel Island. We came to parking at 10:35, ferry was at 11 am. Last ferry coming back from Island was at 5 pm. It takes 5 min to get to the island. There are 2 restaurants that offer food and beach:... More

The location is perfect, next to the cristal clear water of Pinel Island where you have a nice view while are you eating. The staff is very friendly and careful with you, the food is tasty, fresh cooked. A lunch for 2 persons costs between 70-100 usd.
