Nice barman, good atmosphere, pool table, yummy food. We really enjoyed our time in this pub, welcomed our dog and we had a lovely meal in there. I would visit this pub again :)

My fiancee and I have lived in Newlyn for just under 5 months now. We have been into the Red Lion a few times however, we had never eaten there until today. We had the Guinness Steak Pie and my word... it was mouthwatering! The steak flaked away and just melted in your mouth, amazing chips and beautifully presented. Well... More

We came here on the sunday afternoon looking for something to eat. We were welcomed by the bar man as soon as we entered and ordered our drinks. We were shown the special board which we decided to both order the steak and guiness pie. We headed outside to their hidden gem of a gargen which had incredible views over... More

We are currently on our weekend away to Newlyn and had a meal at the Red Lion last night. The choice of food was good, the quality of the food was very good and it was very tasty. Very friendly staff, chatted away to us, had given our border terrier some treats and generally made a fuss of her. The... More

A proper pub much favoured by locals - always a good sign. Great atmosphere, terrific food with freshest of fresh fish well cooked being our favourite, but the Guinness pie is fab too as is the barbecued spare ribs (yes they really are barbecued). Staff are friendly and efficient. Covered smoking area for those who enjoy and also a separate... More

What a great pub with a unbeatable view of the bright and busy harbour in the front and a cheeky little garden that is a sun trap at the back. This pub provides well cooked, priced and delicious fresh food....fish dishes so tasty...from a tiny kitchen...amazing. During our stay we also met travellers that dock up at the harbour making... 11 people, 2 tables, 2 nights on the trot...brilliant food, fresh, local produce, locally caught fish and seafood,...friendly, accommodating staff...what more could you ask for? Ah I know...They even let you sing for your supper! from all of us at The Fishwiveschoir after a brilliant gig and stay in Newlyn, supporting the The Fishermans Mission at The Newlyn Fish Festival

We recently stayed in Newlyn for a week and ate at the pub on 3 occasions. On each occasion the food was excellent. The meals that we had between us were, Guinness Pie, Burgers, Lasagne, Fisherman's Pie and Fish Parcels. Everyone of these was cooked beautifully but the Fish Parcels we had on our last night were fantastic. The puddings... More

This pub is family friendly and cosy with great views. The food is lovely. My husband and I had the fish pie which was the best fish pie ever. My son's had lasagne and chips which they also raved about. Once you've eaten your not rushed out, we stayed and played cards. The landlord came over to chat and adjusted... More

by any of the other food establishments this holiday. Excellent food & staff - first course slow arriving due to barney in the kitchen, more than compensated for by the profuse apologies accompanied by unsolicited extra large deserts.
