At first I was weary of Cornwall in general, as I was warned by English people that they don't take kindly to outsiders. This could not be further from the truth at the Red Lion. I was lucky enough to dine there several times a week over a period of a few months. From the moment I first arrived I... More

This pub is opposite the harbour therefore has a decent view. There is a good choice of food including plenty of fish and it arrived promptly and well presented. OK beer and wine too.

I and my friend visited this quaint little pub overlooking Newlyn Harbour on a warm September evening for a quick dinner on our way back from a holiday in the Scilly Isles, and what a treat it was! The "fish parcel" was a terrific dish, probably the best fish dinner I have had in the last 10 years or so!... More

An old-fashioned pub where you can get good old-fashioned pub food at old-fashioned prices. Beer and wine good. Friendly if haphazard service. Nothing fancy, just a relaxing place to sit and chat awhile. Try also the Fisherman's Arms just down the street for a similar experience.

We were recommended this pub as a great place to enjoy seafood meals. In particular we wanted to have crab salad. The pub itself was welcoming and the staff were very pleasant. We found the decor odd with a mixture of good old fashioned pub decor and some unusual clear perspex chairs. The starter we had was crab soup and... More

We were all the day walking and we had still to go to the Minack Theatre at 8 and it was raining…. so we decided to stop to eat in the first pub that we found. What’s a surprise! The pub was full, all the tables were booked but the waitress was really nice and found a place for us... More

Welcoming, friendly pub with tasty food. The landlord and his wife went out of their way to chat to us and make us feel at home.

Nice barman, good atmosphere, pool table, yummy food. We really enjoyed our time in this pub, welcomed our dog and we had a lovely meal in there. I would visit this pub again :)

My fiancee and I have lived in Newlyn for just under 5 months now. We have been into the Red Lion a few times however, we had never eaten there until today. We had the Guinness Steak Pie and my word... it was mouthwatering! The steak flaked away and just melted in your mouth, amazing chips and beautifully presented. Well... More

We came here on the sunday afternoon looking for something to eat. We were welcomed by the bar man as soon as we entered and ordered our drinks. We were shown the special board which we decided to both order the steak and guiness pie. We headed outside to their hidden gem of a gargen which had incredible views over... More
