We stayed here as a friend had recommended "the Italian in Newlyn" - we can only assume there is another Italian as I'm sure she cannot have meant the Italian Kitchen! The waitress was bored-looking and completely personality-free - she did not offer one word over and above that necessary in which to take our order. The food took quite... More

We visited this restaurant while staying in a cottage in Newlyn . I called up to book the morning of our visit the man on the phone was very cheerful and booked us in . The waitresses on arrival were both friendly and attentive . The five of us in our party had starters main and a couple of desserts... More

Firstly, our main waitress was helpful and pleasant if a bit timid. We were 4 children and 11 adults on holiday. The starters were all without exception very good, the mains were not. I had Carbonara, I'm nearly sure it had Elmlea cream in it, it was stiff and the only taste to it was a bitter aftertaste, I couldn't... More

Visited on the 1st night of a holiday in Newlyn, had to vistit again before the holiday ended as we found that they do, without reservation, the most wonderful pizzas in an al-fresco setting - bit noisy, but the experience was more than worth it.

We have previously been very happy with previous meals here but this year's experience wasn't so good. There were 6 in our party and 3 were very happy with their meals but 3 of us were disappointed and the only response we got when we raised the issue was that staff would 'Tell the Chef'. Clumsy staff kept dropping cutlery... More

I visited while on holiday in Penzance and decided to eat in Newlyn after a terrible meal at the Bakehouse, Penzance. The italian kitchen is a hidden gem and we had a gorgeous meal which would out class many in Penzance town. I had an amazing smoked mackerel risotto and a baked cheese cake to follow and it was divine.... More

We have been to this restaurant before. Excellent food, attentive staff. Good value for money. Would recommend friends and family to come and sample food.

A really nice Italian restaurant, clean, good menu and very nice food. The downside-very long wait. We arrived at the booked time of 8.15 and had ordered by 8.30 but it was almost 9.30 before the food arrived. The restaurant was far from full and it was difficult to figure out why. The waitresses were efficient and friendly but the... More

I visited this restaurant while on a trip to Penzance last weekend. I won't be returning. The only good thing about this restaurant was the service, which wasn't at all bad thanks to the girls serving last Saturday night. Not brilliant, but the only redeeming feature. And I was really searching for a redeeming feature! The food: well, the baked... More

We had not eaten here for quite a while and the other night reminded us why. The table was horribly sticky and, like the rest of the place, could really do with a good clean. The paint on the wall was peeling and plaster had been gouged out where the tables had rubbed against it. The music was not quite... More
