Tuesday - soaked in pouring rain as we emerged from underground at Geevor, so we needed a Jelbert's ice cream; Wednesday - boiling hot after walking to Men-an-Tol, so we needed a Jelbert's ice cream; Friday - Bea, Flo and Connie scraped their legs on rocks pottering round pools at Mousehole, so we needed a Jelbert's ice cream. Wonderful to... More

I may have eaten ice-cream all over the world but you really can't beat going back to the best holiday treat in Cornwall. It has to be a large cone and cream and then back for seconds!

A lovely Cornish family business. My all time favourite ice cream, kept it simple and very reasonable.

I've been visiting Jelberts with my family ever since I can remember and it has always been and I think will forever remain my favourite ice cream. Don't expect crazy flavours or anything like that, just one simple vanilla is the sheer brilliance of Jelberts! Of course you can go the extra mile and add some clotted cream or a... More

Walked from Penzance to get this ice cream. We all agreed it was the best ice cream we had EVER had. So worth the visit. No frils, one flavour but WOW!

I have been holidaying in cornwall for years but it was only on this visit that I discovered this excellent little shop. The icecream is really creamy. The only reason it didn't get 5* was because a small amount if it was slightly crystally. Excellent value and worth the trip

I have been coming here since I was a kid, I now bring my wife and three children. This is simply the best ice cream anywhere, who needs lots of flavors when this vanilla is so good.

Just spent a delightful 40 mins chatting to James (Jim) in this quaint simple ice cream shop. The shop was recommended to us but due to the weather today (cold and damp), we almost gave it a miss. So pleased we didn't! The vanilla ice cream, an old family recipe made fresh daily, was most definitely delicious but became heavenly... More

Absolutely gorgeous ice-cream (one flavour only - vanilla) to be had from this un-prepossesing shop on the main street thro' Newlyn.

If you remember Harts ice cream that was once a staple of a trip to St Ives then Jelberts in Newlyn is as good,if not better. 1 flavour, authentic Cornish vanilla, with the choice of with or without clotted cream.
