Full by 6pm had to wait......but worth it.

Get in early if you can especially in holiday periods. We went in Easter 2015 and it was packed. I had the whitebait for starter and the scampi for main. It was delicious. Prices are reasonable. The desserts are wonderful if you can manage one. The only downside is that it is a bit dark but then it... read more

We discovered this amazing restaurant completely by accident. It has an awesome atmosphere, very relaxed and friendly. We were given a table very quickly and the lovely waitress was really helpful. She recommended the chicken in the rough and it was so delicious that we went back for more the following night. Our little boy liked the fact that he... More

This was our 4th visit to the famous Meadery, we look forward to our visit there when we make the trip from Scotland to visit family in Penzance. The staff are warm, welcoming and always charmingly engaging. The food is what it is - my kids love the rustic 'get tore in' with fingers and the chicken is a go... More

Don't wear your finery! You'll be expected to eat with hands here (we slipped over to the salad bar to get utensils!). Plenty of mead and beer to go around, so enjoy. For meat you can order chickens (half or whole in the rough) or beef. I'm not sure about pork. We opted for BBQ ribs. They were very nice... More

I've been coming to newlyn meadery now for 7 years and I cannot fault any trip. The food is amazing the service is always friendly and professional and the portion size is HUGE!!!! despite having 3 meaderys within 15 minutes of my house in St Agnes I ALWAYS make the 40 minute drive to newlyn as the others cannot even... This was our fourth visit hear, the previous one being two years ago. In the past we have always received good service, good food, and felt it was very good value for money. Not this time, unfortunately. We arrived as the doors opened and we were the third party to be seated but we had to wait ages to be... More

It was okay... Always seems a shame that the use frozen and processed food when they are so close to the fish market. Our children complained the food was too greasy and didn't eat much at all. The salad bar was lacking in quantity, I always seem to remember there being a lot more variety and struggling to fit it... More

There are several meaderies within the newly named area but the one away from the harbour is the best. Car parking facilities Are close by as is a couple of pubs if you wish to visit. A place for everyone, families on holidays to those celebrating a special event. You climb the steps to reach the first of two floors... More

This place is just out and out relaxed dinning in a relaxed atmosphere. The food and the service is great, the mead wine excellent and the setting splendid. The staff dress up in very fitting outfits. Kids with love it, just tell them it's King Arthurs grand hall... The only downside is they are moving away from 100% wooden plates... More

My family and I went for a meal on the 10th of June for my birthday, even though you are unable to book at the meadery it has many tables and they seem very accommodating!! The service was great and all the staff were very friendly and attentive, the salad bar has lots of choice including pasta and potato salad.... More
