Good fun, surprisingly tasty food

Visited with a group of 7- all first timers. We were advised to arrive early as they don't take bookings, so we turned up 15 minutes before opening and there was already a queue! It's a free for all when you get inside- run upstairs and find a table as quickly as you can- they started turning... read more

The Meadery is a smashing place to visit and serves delicious chicken and chips. It really is well worth a visit with a lovely atmosphere.

Went to the Newlyn Meadery last night as a surprise treat from my Girlfriend. Needless to say, I felt a bit embarrassed to say to her that her ‘Cornish childhood restaurant’ was rubbish. I ordered smoked mackeral. Penzance is a harbour, so what I didn't expect was bland shop bought mackeral which wasn't even seasoned. Not even the good peppered... More

Took my kids here this week as it was 30 years ago my parents bought me. Chicken in the rough was small and expensive, KFC better. Fish bites were nice but salad bar had limited choice. Waitresses were very friendly as I remember and the whole restaurant was very very dark which adds to the atmosphere. Kidz enjoyed the experience... More

Went there with friends. Nice interior with very happy staff. Very busy so you need to book. Excellent value for money, I had the ribs and found 3 racks on my plate, amazing couldn't eat a pudding!

This wont be for everyone. The mead range isn't as wide as other meaderies plus the ambiance setting means you will be eating in very dim light. If you are into your med evil experiences then this is the place for you. Personally I'm not a big fan of theme restaurants but this meadery pulls it off. the atmosphere is... More

Tried to book a table to go for a meal here but NO RESERVATIONS are taken. One has to take pot luck in being seated for a meal (or indeed that there will be seats available...). Did go down and had a look and luckily we got in! :) Being an old cinema, the eating room is HUGE and full... More

This restaurant is a favourite with my girlfriends family and understandable why! Lovely food, excellent atmosphere, friendly staff and the fruit mead is very tasty as well! Thoroughly recommended but turn up 10-15 minutes early if you want to be sure to secure a table.

Well...first off...they dont take table reservations so never ever go here for birthday parties at the weekend. Not worth the risk of them being full. I went with a few people, three of us ordered half a coke and it came is various glasses. Mine came in a glass that they now serve mead in....so was not half a pint.... More
