Lovely country inn

Called here on the way back from Weymouth. It's a lovely country inn - big log fire, friendly clientele, especially the bikers, genial mine host. The food is OK pub grub and none the worse for that and the beer is excellent.

Particularly recommend the home made fish cakes: fragrant, fresh, beautiful texture. Real treat. This lady can COOK. Best fishcakes in Dorset. (And we have a lot of fishcakes here!)

Having recently moved into the village and trying out all of the pubs for food and hospitality, the Giant Inn and wins hands down. The mangers are very friendly and welcoming and attentive. We recently visited with a couple of close friends who live in a neighbouring village, after being pushed away from the New Inn.. (Rude unhelpful staff) we... More

So pleased that The Giant Inn is a dog friendly establishment!!! We have just booked a holiday in the village because it is so dog friendly and will definitely be eating and drinking out during our stay. Can't wait and will update my review on our return.

Very friendly staff. Good choice of beer that the Landlord happily provided tasters for. Very nice tasty sandwich well presented with crisps and salad. Very clean modern decoration that still retains the character of a country pub. Recommended.

Warm welcome, very clean and lovely decor. The food was excellent and good value for money, and I took my two dogs in after eating (2 and 11wks).

A warm welcome for us and the dogs, a well cooked and very tasty Sunday lunch, accompanied by good beer. Cerne Abbas is a delightful village.

We arrived to a friendly welcome albeit quiet due to time of year - great lunchtime food in peaceful surroundings. In actual fact stayed longer than we'd anticipated due to the hospitality.

We were staying in a cottage in Cerne Abbas, with out 8 month old puppy. We are here a couple of times and were very impressed. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere and staff were friendly and also happy to have well behaved puppy. Food was of good high quality and delicious. Good selection of wines and local beers also.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Liked the fact the more popular dishes are offered in two sizes! The staff were very pleasant and helpful - as they even charged up my husband's phone whilst we had lunch.
