Fabulous local ales from Cerne Abbas Brewery and a fantastic barmaid who knows how to treat her customers!

We were passing through Cerne Abbas - mid walk - and stopped in another pub in the village. Disappointed by the ales on draft there we thought we'd try The Giant Inn. Greeted by the effervescent barmaid - Alice - she happily gave us more than generous tastings of the local brews which allowed us... read more

10 of us descended on The Giant Inn for a family meal. A long table had been reserved away from the bar and we had plenty of room to feel at home. The staff were very helpful and explained what was on the menu. The menu wasn't the most extensive I've ever seen but it did us fine. I had... More

There were 8 of us in our group and the inn was busy but the locals moved tables to accommodate us! The most amazing home made steak & ale pies, will definitely return!!!!!

the giant inn has been my local for 12 years, but this great pub has lost leadership, the bar staff are great but the locals have given up on the pub, because the landlord is never seen behind the bar, it needs direction, that said the food has improved and is more varied, shame the locals have moved on

We have eaten at the Giant Inn 3 or 4 times recently, mainly lunches, when on a walk and it is always a welcoming, friendly place to stop. The food is excellent and very good value for money especially compared to most other pubs in the area, some of which charge ridiculous prices. Proper pub food at its best and good... More

We liked everything about this family oriented pub. There was a lot of activity, laughing, and conversation but it was not noisy or overbearing. The food was delicious and plentiful and both staff and other patrons were friendly and helpful. A great place to enjoy an evening meal.

A real local pup where the locals frequent. The food was good pub food. The costs were reasonable. It is dog friendly.

Four of us went to the Giant, for lunch on 6th June. The beer was very good indeed and the meal was good quality and not overpriced. The pub is very dog friendly and the landlord, landlady and the staff were very friendly. All in all I would recommend this pub as a "good honest traditional English pub" and we... More
