Nice atmosphere

We were staying in a cottage walking distance from the restaurant and decided to have our last meal at this restaurant. It was directly opposite the place where they bring in the fish just caught and so most of the menu is fish. Great informal atmosphere and friendly staff although quite expensive.

We've been visiting the Old Cellars eveyy year for over 15 years, as we visit Cadgwith every Summer. It's always been fine, if not exceptional, but this time we noticed a definite raising of standards. The service was that bit more professional and efficient, while the food was terrific, reasonably priced, & well presented. Good atmosphere, and gret location.

Stumbled upon this restaurant after a visit to Cadgwith, went to eat at the pub next door but really glad they were full and we went here instead! A lovely little place with a fantastic menu using locally sourced ingredients, excellent value for money as it was so delicious. The first night i tried the steak and hand cut chips and can... More

I have been going here for over 20 years, since I was a young child, the highlight was always the homemade doughnuts and clotted cream. On arrival I was advised that the doughnuts were no longer available as the chef does not want to mix the frying of the fish with the doughnuts. I thought this was a strange as... More

We feel it is a little extreme to say The Old Cellars Cafe Bistro has gone down the pan because we don't sell doughnut cream teas any more, it is our prerogative whether we sell doughnuts or not and we don't want to! it is not the aim we are heading for and as you can see we have had... More

We stayed in the Cot cottage just up the road and ate here almost every night. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was great, a really good selection -my favourite was the Scallops and black pudding bon bons, but would recommend the entire menu! It was our honeymoon when we were there and... More

Lovely little restaurant in a very nice little fishing village, offering great walks in either direction along the coastal path. We shared a couple of their lunch dishes which were great, a generous portion of Tempura seafood, chips, and a seafood platter, couple of glasses of wine. Perfect. The blackboard showing dinner specials looked very good too, and we will... More

We noticed this place whilst walking the SW coastpath and thought we would try it one evening. After walking 2 miles to get there I felt too dressed down at first for such a lovely restaurant but we were made to feel very welcome. We had a fantastic meal. My partner opted for the pork belly and I had one... More

We went for lunch and ordered platters which consisted of 2 tempura prawns, 1 scallop and several other rather insipid tasting items which were ok but did not warrant the cost. The bread was labelled home made but was just dry ciabatta with very little taste...shame - this place was superb last year...
