We went for dinner with friends at the Hunters Moon - we go there regularly because the food and service is good and the choice is varied. We have tried the carvery, the fish, the steak and the liver in the times we have been they are very good. The waiting staff are excellent, - always friendly and helpful. The... More

We stayed for overnight in one of the guest rooms. There are a lot of positives, atmosphere and ambience, dinner was nice, staff were helpful and the guest room was very clean. But there were some things that could be a bit better. Room was right next to the pub entrance so a bit noisy a bit small and took... More

Dean and his staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The standard menu doesn't change too much (which is reassuring if you've a favourite on it) but there are also some interesting and varied dishes on the board. Whichever you choose, the food's great and a choice of regular or generous portions of some courses is welcome. Cajun chicken salad is... More

Very good pub grub at sensible prices. Many of the standard 'mains' at small or normal size - attractive for those with a limited appetite. Very friendly staff. Efficient service. Food cooked to order. They served on of the best treacle tarts I have ever eaten - home made and delicious. (This is a personal favorite - I have been... More

We travel 25 miles just to come to this pub for their carvery. The last time I came was remembrance day. Hadn't booked. Squeezed 5 of us in. It's always worth the travel. My first choice for Sunday carvery over anywhere that's local to us. I always recommend the carvery to friends who are prepared to travel for great food... More

This is one of our favourite pubs and have visited it many times. We can thoroughly recommend the pie of the day, have had numerous different flavour pies and never disappointed. Friendly, chatty landlord & always a warm welcome. Good well kept real ales and nice warm open fire.

Had lunch with two friends. Busy for a Tuesday which shows what a good reputation this place has. Service was friendly and lovely atmosphere with beautiful log fire. Enjoyed our food and liked the fact that the landlord asked our opinion on future menu. Will pass other pubs in the area to visit this one.
