Came here today for a birthday meal, wonderful service and such a nice atmosphere. typical old pub with a lovely old fireplace, just what a pub should be! Carvery was great, beef wasnt overdone and the white wine was delicious! Our waitress was so lovely, we all really enjoyed it, thank you!!!! Will definitely be returning!

Found hunters moon in the 2014 good pub guide and it certainly lived up to expectation. Food was amazing, can recommend the home made steak pie, we had small portion which was still plenty (don't think I'd have got through a large). The staff were really friendly and dogs are allowed which is great. 100% recommend this pub.

We visted here for Subday Lunch and had the carvery which was very popular. We had been here before and had great meals lunch times midweek and love the menu choices. The Carvery on a Sunday is great quality and quantity. The Hunters moon is a free house with selection of real ales as well. Its table service on Sunday... More

We popped in here on a Friday evening and both had the carvery. The food was lovely however our only complaint was that the beef was rare and there was no choice to have the beef well done. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

we visited this pub while staying in the nearby village of longburton. I had fish & chips, the coleslaw and tartar sauce tasted homemade and were very nice. my husband had the faggots and he said they were very good. but I think the treacle tart was from a supermarket which was disappointing. the service was good and the staff... The accomodation is fine.Clean and modern. The food though was very dissappointing. The Chille Con Carne was like one you get out of a tin, then heated up. Very fine ground mince with no texture, and slushy. No guacamole, or salsa, just a small sour cream pot. For £10 for that dish it really should have been better. Many of... More

We were staying at Greenfields Camping just down the road so we walked to the Hunters Moon. It is a nice typical country pub, I wasn't impressed with the selection of real ales though - just Spitfire, Butcombe and something else. But of course lots of lagers and ciders, and other drinks. The beer garden is quite large and the... More

The Hunters Moon bills itself as a traditional pub with rooms. We did not stay here but we stopped for lunch by chance. We had a really good meal. My wife had steak, kidney and mushroom pie, and I had a chicken curry, followed by a passionfruit and mango melba for my wife and I had a deep filled apple... More
