Absolute outstanding! Worth it's 3 Michelin stars.

We went to De Leest for lunch and were pleasently surprised! What a food, what a wine and what a hospitality! We took the three course lunch menu for €52 and added a fourth course and cheese platter. The 'show' started with 3 different amuses and gave us a good impression of the Chef's... read more

Wonderful evening here. Took the micro surprise menu and we were not disappointed. Wines also amazing. Less stuffy that de librije and lots of fresh modern dishes. Will be back.

My husband and I visited De Leest about 4-5 times last year, before they were awarded their 3rd Michelin star. This time we went with a friend and his partner. As we have spoken highly of this restaurant every so often, my friend became curious to try and we planned the trip eventually. I noticed that these days getting reservation... More

We visited this restaurant just a few weeks before it became his third Michelin star. We invited friends to have diner with us in this restaurant. And it was a hit! Wauw! The dishes, the tast, the wines and the hospitality!! A perfect combination! We enjoyed every minute of it! And I feel lucky, because today it will be a... More

This place is foodie heaven. As other reviewers have noted, everything about De Leest is good. The welcome, the service, and the surroundings . And the food is simply amazing. Our first course was tartare of bream with marinated spiced tomatoes in a sauce of roasted vegetables and accompanied by a chorizo vinaigrette. The main was fish again, this time... More

Hubby and I visited this restaurant for lunch a couple of weeks ago. Despite located in a small village and with no train station in the neighbourhood, the place was fully packed, but then again it was a national holiday. Seeing the very high rating (19.5 out of 20 from Gault Millau) and glowing reviews (as expected from a 2... More

It was over 3 years since we visited DE LEEST of which we had fond memories. De Leest has been one of our favourites in the Netherlands but because we are over 150 km. away it is not an obvious choice for a lunch, but fortunately we had to be in Vaassen so we decided to have lunch in de... More

My wife booked this as a surprise for my 50th birthday. We stayed at the nearby (20 minutes) HotelSuites refurbished IL-18 East German 1960s era plane that has been converted to a luxury hotel suite. We had lunch at De Leest on the Wednesday before Christmas in December. Hence, it was quiet with only one other table occupied. Despite this... More

We had reservation during the "heerlijke10daagse". Our menu was three courses that we extended to five. All courses and wines were very nice, except one of the northsea Crab and for 22,5 euro I expected more then 1.5 bites with a blend taste. Timing during the evening was off. Pouring wine for a course and serving the food about 25-30... More

There are excellent restaurants and there is De Leest. Located in a quiet town of Vaasen in Gelderland, this unpretentious 2-star Michelin restaurant beats the other Michelin star restaurants we have been to. Kim Veldman, wife of Chef Jacob Jan Boerma, welcomes you like an old friend. They do have their degustation menus but their lunch menu at €45 is... More
