First class and what a little Gem

I gather the wonderful Giles Cunliffe, chef/owner of the Raglan Arms is moving to new challenges in London.... this is to thank Giles for getting on for a decade of splendid cooking and hospitality and running one of the loveliest restaurants in the county. Here's to more successes for Giles and a warm welcome to the new owners......

Dinner: 10th January 2015. My son's 22nd Birthday. This is a lovely old pub that has been tastefully refurbished. Stone floors; open fire; 2 comfy sofas for pre dinner menu selection; large wooden tables, well spaced, for the food stage! I've been here a few times and haven't seen people just sitting at the bar; this is very much a... More

Took visiting friends who are foodies for Sunday lunch having read Trip Advisor reviews. What a good decision. This was a faultless meal. The place has a sparse feel but very welcoming. The staff are young, friendly, attentive and well trained.

Been to this restaurant this evening for a meal for my 30th birthday. Have visited a few times before and have always been impressed. This evening, however, they surpassed themselves. We were so impressed by the attention to detail, the food was lovely and they could not do enough to make our visit enjoyable. Thank you so much for a... More

We visited the Raglan Arms for a post Christmas meal. The village of Llandenny is a special family place as one of my ancestors was the Blacksmith. We brought our oil painting of the church to find the exact position where it was painted from. The food was lovely and the open fire very pleasant. The presentation was excellent.

Had lunch here today. I am writing this review because I cannot fault anything about the quality of either the food, service or the place. The food was expertly prepared, of the highest quality and beautifully presented. Some lovely touches including complimentary homemade pitta bread with humous and mini mince pies with christmas pudding ice cream. The ambience is cosy,... More

Visited the Raglan Arms for Sunday lunch last Sunday with fiends. This is the fourth time I have visited the pub over the last year for Sunday lunch and I must say that every time I have had a gorgeous meal. The standards are very high and the food is cooked to perfection. The pub is cosy and there is... More

We have visited this pub twice now and have eaten on both occasions, it is absolutely fantastic. The food could be Michelin Star it is that good and the atmosphere was just perfect. The service was brilliant and the waitresses were lovely. I cannot praise this enough and I cannot wait to return!

Lunch-30th October 2014. It's worth seeking out this pub. Inside it's pristine and tastefully decorated. Good sized plain wooden tables, well set apart. Short choice of fresh and well cooked meals. We had the fishcakes and rabbit - both excellent. Nice house wines by the glass. I was with a client; it's smart but relaxed enough to work for that.... More
