Must eat here while visiting Venice

I heard about this place from a friend. It's located on an island close to Venice. Seeing this town is worth the trip and eating at Al Gatto Nero was an unforgettable experience. The seafood and pasta plates are superb! It was worth the trip just to walk around Burano, but the cuisine and wine... read more

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here - better than anything we could have hoped for even if we spent four times as much at the greatest Michelin starred restaurant! Dinner by the canal in picturesque Burano with the sun setting and the moon rising, tasting one delicious course after another with loving and passionate service and perfect attention from... More

Wandering through Burano, we stopped here for lunch - what a great surprise! My husband and our friend had a cuttle fish and squid ink pasta that was out of this world, and we had the seafood risotto - wonderful and creamy! We had terrific service with great recommendations, and had seats by the window to watch the Burano world... More

Went here for a birthday dinner and did not disappoint. We ordered the chefs "sampler" dish, forgive me I cant remember the name, and it was superb. A great way to try many new things that my wife and I never had. Almost didn't get dessert, but we ordered the panna cotta and oh my, so glad we did. Wonderful... More

First off, this restaurant did not even give me a chance to dine here. I went to this restaurant because of the recommendation of Rick Steves' guidebook. Once on the Island, I actually made an effort to look for it. It is actually on the other side of the Island from the ferry terminal and on a relative quiet section... More

Book a table by the canal at this restaurant for dinner at 8:30. Take a stroll from your place in Venice to Fondamenta Nova and take waterbus 12 to Burano around 7pm. Walk around the colorful fisherman houses in this little island until its time. Then prepared to be charmed by the superb service of this family owned restaurant and... More

The restaurant was located on a beautiful and colorful canal in the center of Burano. The food was fantastic and so was the service.

My partner and I visited this restaurant last week, after an impromptu visit to Burano to escape the busyness of Venice on my birthday. We were drawn in by the pretty setting, the bustling atmosphere and the plate after plate of delicious looking (and smelling!) food coming out to the tables. We did not have a reservation and thought there... More

I would like to particularly point out the amazingly delicate taste of the pasta at this restaurant. It was by far the best pasta I've had. The more you chew, the more various tastes touch your tongue and fill your mouth with happy sensation. Other dishes were all good too but the memorable one dish is the pasta (seafood, olive... More

This restaurant is a must! It's all about sea food and lovely wine. Book a table by the little canal if the weather is okay. The service is great. The staff is joking and very attentive. It is very easy to spend hours at Al Gatto Nero!
