Superb meal!

We stumbled on Al Gatto Nero 2 years ago after visiting Burano on a whim. Luckily for us, they managed to find a spare table with a minimal wait. We tried to get a table at the Gatto Nero years ago and finally made thanks to a private boat tour. The fresh fish pleased all my friends and the pasta was equally good. Sublime setting by the canal, on the beautiful island. Highly recommended but book as the queue was all down the pavement.

I had the most wonderful degustation menu here and am so glad I came here. The service was impeccable, the food was magnificent, and they were very kind to me as a solo traveller without a reservation....thank you so much! Eating here is one of the highlights of my time in Venice.

From start to finish we had a wonderful meal here. The welcome glass of prosecco was a lovely touch and much appreciated on a hot day! The waiters were a delight - friendly and making jokes - and able to make good wine recommendations to pair with our chosen food. It is clearly a popular place: by 1pm the place... More

We made a reservation for this restaurant a few days before our arrival to Venice and luckily we did!! This little gem is located on the island of Burano, sightly out of the main touristy spot. The restaurant opened at 7:30pm but once all the stores on the island closed around 7pm, we ventured over to the restaurant to wait... More

We were lucky to book a late lunch on the web on a beautiful day in Burano. Massi greeted us, offered a complementary glass of prosecco and we enjoyed the freshest razor clams, in season soft shell crabs from the lagoon and a wonderful seafood pasta. Go out of your way to come visit a wonderful family run destination on... More

Burano is the most colourful island in Venice Lagoon. We took Vaporetto from Lido to Burano Nr 14 and in 55 minutes we were there. Bright, different colours worth to spend time for this small island. For a tasty / excellent stop for lunch, Gatto Nero is the right address. Ask a table if you do not have a reservation... More

I would definitely recommend making your way to Burano on your trip to Venice for two reasons: 1) To see the beautiful architecture of Burano, and 2) To have a marvelous dinner at Al Gatto Nero. We made a reservation the week before and a few days before the day of, we received an email from the restaurant to confirm... More

It has the reputation as the best on Burano, and certainly going by the quality of the welcome, service and food, we impressed. A table was available at short notice. The fish tasting starter was particularly fine. The fish was exceedingly fresh, boned by the table. A most enjoyable lunch.

We took the vaporetta from Venice to Burano for lunch at this world famous eating place. I strongly suggest you book and reserve a table to avoid being disappointed. We had the risotto starter followed by the baked turbot for 2...the whole fish iwas presented and served at the table...the taste was superb. We had wine (25 euros). The final... More
