You just need to wait for a sunny day then rush at Burano island ASAP for a early morning visit. Try it during low season (much less tourists) then stop at Al Gatto Nero for lunch & let the waiter guide you, Ask for the special of the day or for the soft shell crab... They make me discover a... I'm not a relative... just a big fan. We just ended adoring these guys.. Ruggero came to our table to make sure he understood what he wanted so he could cook just right... amazing guy. We spent almost 20 days in Italy and this was, for sure one of the 2 best meals we had (the other was at Osteria... More

I went to this restaurant without any reservation. Silly me. Fortunately, luck was on my side. I reached the restaurant at 1pm and the staff is kind enough to offer me a reservation on 130pm which I duly accept. Came back half an hour later and I picked Burano-style risotto and fried king prawn. Truly delicious. The fried prawn is... More

Best fish soup - probably in any restaurant. Good service, authentic environment, fantastic walk to the restaurant in the super charming Burano area. Food really authentic, great ingredients and flavor.

Second time we went to this restaurant and another time we get the best seafood and shellfish ever. Ask for the special local clams from the lagune. Friendly and helpfull waiters. Especially Max the waiter. This is REALLY a gem hidden in Burano ! A must do even when you are in Venice.

We read a lot of reviews saying that reservations are compulsory. We did make a reservation and when we went in only 3-4 tables were full. The grilled dish was wonderful! It was really fresh and for my family it was grilled just perfectly. Spaghetti vongole was simply the best I've ever had, and risotto was great also. I personally... More

I have have now had a long lunch with excellent seafood for the 5th time. The restaurant is exceptional with excellent food and first rate attention from the staff. This is the first time I have visited in winter and sitting inside the restaurant is different but still enjoyable. Well worth a visit.

Heard about this restaurant from friends who said to make sure we visited before we left the Venice area. The owner was charming and his food suggestions were great. The seafood dishes were delicious. Make sure to make reservations or you'll never get in.

What a special place! The seafood is superb; the service excellent. Get the boat from Venice and fall asleep on the way back like I did!

Although I had planned on securing reservations prior to our arrival, I attempted without response, utilizing their website online form. I had added their number to my contacts but didn't get around to calling once we arrived in Italy. Accepting that we would most likely not be dining at Gatto Nero, about which I had read so many great reviews,... More
